hey girlies,
i was just wondrering when should you start cleaning behind little boys forskins???? Theo is only 11days and oi presuming this is too young? but when should you start???

thank you x x x

i think its best to leave that until they get a lot older - say 9 or 10.
Drawing back the foreskin unneccessarily can cause infection and irritation. :)

I heard that you shouldn't clean them as it can cause infection. I can't remember where I heard it though. I haven't done anything with my little man. When he gets in the bath it will probably wash away any nasty bits anyway!

No no don't pull the foreskin back, there is no need to....I asked Hubby and he said he doesn't think he could do it before he was 8 or 9 anyway.

No never pull their foreskins back! you could hurt them and cause infection - a quick wipe is fine when changing a nappy and bathing just wash it normally, no foreskin pulling!

What the others have said, you don't need to do it at all.

Yeah, I havent touched my LO's, and was told by the age you clean under there, they are old enuff to do it themselves really.

I've never did it. A good soak in the bath does the trick. xxx

awww thank you girlies!
i obviously know then men/older boys need to do it, but no one ever tells you about babies!

thank you for your very helpful comments and replies x x x

Same as the oher have said really. It hasn't actually seperated from his willy at this point so would be very sore for LO if tried to pull back (I found all this out from What to Expect in the First Year, I'm not a willy expert  )

Definitely don't attempt to pull it back. It'll be too tight to do comfortably and it won't be ready to be retracted until he's much much older.

Ditto to everyone else.....Sam has mild hypspadius and we saw the specialist willy doctor last week. (Not his official title ha ha!)
He was checking Sam's foreskin and it was a bit messy underneath - I was really surprised as it hadn't even occured to me to pull it back and clean it before, so I asked him if I should be, to which he said no (any 'dirt' works it's own way out).
