Baby blood test

So R has to have a blood test next week as he is still a little bit jaundice.

I'm not looking forward to this as I have been told they will take it from his hand and I know how much that hurts....hubby is back to work next week too so it's just me to take him, I am quite nervous for him and I know it's going to stress me out too..

Did anyone else have to have this test done, apparently they test for loads of other stuff too?

My dd had it when she was a baby i fed her as they did it. They do the billy Rubin test.

Just noticed he's only 2.5 week - that's still quite young my dd was about 4 weeks from memory

It depends, they sometimes take them from the heel the same as the heel prick test when my son was in NICU he had a fair few including for jaundic. They forget it so quickly I promise.

I thought he was a bit young as well but I don't want to not do it and then there is something wrong, if you get what I mean..

He will be 3 1/2 weeks by the time he has the test though so maybe to too young, jeez I am losing track of days!!

They did it from ralph's heel at a week old and we got the results this week. All clear

Harrison had 2 he had a heel prick test the same as they have for their routine tests but he also had a canula (not sure if that is how you spell it) in his little hand to get blood for lots of tests. Is it at hospital? Coz when he had his doen they had one of those bubble lighttubes which distracted him!! Try feeding him after the blood test as they soon forget about it!!

Holly had lots done in scbu for jaundice in her foot. She had them in her hand at checkups after. They gave her sugar syrup to distract her. It doesn't take long and they soon forget. Try not to worry, loads better to get it checked.

Yes it's at the hospital, he has had his heel prick test just waiting for those results.

I'll make sure I take food with me when we go and distraction toys too....
