SIL has lent us hers. I'm not entirely comfortable using the sling I have but gave the Baby Bjorn a go in the house. SIL said we can't use it until Becky is 6 weeks?! It's not as if it doesn't support her head because it does. Looked on the site and they suggest a minimum weight of 8lb and Becky is 9. Anyone know of any reason I shouldn't use it? Ta!

a friend gave me hers and i didn't even think to check age/weight guidelines   i used it from birth and connor dropped to 6lb 2oz at one point! he was fine in it though :) :)

i used it from about 2 weeks old so leland couldnt have been more then 7lb either ! and ive got an older style one as i got it from ebay  but im more comfy with this then the sling right now as i cant get the moby wrap on without help and the carrier i can !

I don't see why I couldn't use it. Went to Tesco with her in it yesterday and it was great. Was only then OH told me what his sister had said.

I've got one and I don't remember reading in the manual that it isn't suitable until the baby is 6 weeks old.

That's a load of rubbish - I think its 8lbs but I'm sure DD went in this at one day old by which time she would have lost a bit of her birth weight of 8lbs 3.5oz.
