Does or has anybody taken baby aspirin whilst ttc? This month is our last final push before we are off to the doctors next month so we are doing smep, using pressed and just wondering about baby aspirin? It's randomly just popped up on ovia news feed today that many women take it whilst ttc. I would have assumed aspirin was harmful to take whilst ttc? But after googling it it seems like a good thing to take?? Does anybody else take it as part of their daily vitamin routine?

Aspirin is mainly taken while ttc by women who have had recurrent miscarriages or issues with bleeding/clotting. If you haven't had this or had it recommended by a health professional I wouldn't take it. Even though it's a low dose it still shouldn't be taken if you fall under many health categories. I've been ttc almost 2 years and had 2 early losses but I still wouldn't take it unless told to. I would just go visit your GP if you've been trying for a while. Good luck xx

I take low dose aspirin. Only when I got my bfp though. I wouldn't take it if you have nothing wrong with you/not had tests. I've also been told your not supposed to take it before you get a positive pregnancy test because the egg will have problems attaching to the lining.

I tried it for a few weeks, just made my gums bleed loads and had to stop. So I wouldnt bother.

Ive been on it and after 8yrs ttc and 4 losses im now 24 weeks pregnant. It helps if you have over active immune system too. I was told to take it after a heart issue last yr and wasnt told to stop it. Ive spoken to many consultants and midwives all have said it doesnt seem to have any negative side effects "it cant harm" was their wirds but it defiantly seemed to help me. X

Hey, I am taking it but only when I got my bpf I thought I would give it a go as I had two early losses.

I have spoken to a few medical people about taking it and they say a low does can't do any harm (I have to stop it at 36 weeks though)

I don't think I would take it to conceive as I'm lucky and got pregnant quite quickly 3 times, but if I have baby number 2 I would defo take it again! My friend who was TTC took it while she was trying and when she got pregnant stopped it xx

If you are going to take it try and get the gastro resistant one and take it at a meal time xxx

I've been told to stop by everyone, my miscarrige consultant said theres nothing wrong with me and by taking iy I'm gonna do more harm to the baby! I said well it's abut of a coincidence then that this is the first pregnancy that's actually progressing and the heartbeat is stronger then it's ever been. I said I'm not gonna stop taking it.
Every single professional Dr/nurse I've seen has told me not to take it :/ but I'm just doing my own thing. X

Its different in every area i guess but as a routine my hospital prescribe baby asprin if youve had 3 losses or more thry told me last time. And theres been so much research into its benefits. My other hospital (im borderline between 2) told me i coukd stop taking it but im now under the care of the one that does reccomend it ive even been seen by the top consultant there that even my mw has never met! And she said it was fine

Seriously they prescribe it after 3? Wish I was with your hospital aha! I felt so shit, i didn't know what to do, like if I take it i might give myself another miscarriage but if i don't i probably will to!! I'm so glad I kept taking it. They want me to come of progesterone aswell at 12 weeks, read so many stories about women coming off it and loosing the baby :( But idk how to get more progesterone if they won't give it to me lol x

Yep but I must admit my hospital are fab. When I had my son 8 years ago they were rated the best maternity ward in the UK. And a documentary was apparently filmed there too. It's slipped a bit over the years with extra demand but I got prescribed odansetron or my hyperemesis and just been given another pill for my reflux that's magic.
I've had early scans from 6weeks for 3 or my 4 mcs (one didn't get that far) and I've already had 5 scans on this one (5, 7, 10, 13 and 20wks) and I have another 3 booked in already.
I didn't take aspirin with my 4th mc as I didn't tell them about my very early one. But yea. I was also give 5mg folic acid. I wouldn't be given progesterone as I'm allergic to it so I don't know what they would say about that.
