It's my due date today and still not settled on a name. Or surname is Kidd and there is so much which does not go with it but some of them have given us a giggle. For example
Iona Kidd - I own a kid
Lucca - look a kid
William is out because Billy the kid
Robin is out as robin Kidd might set them for a life of crime
Most single sounds r out
Fay Kidd
Finn Kidd
May Kidd
Jay Kidd

Any one have any nice suggestions or can think of others we should avoid?

Some of those made me giggle :)

My brothers friend at school had the surname Kidd and he was called Daniel, he also had a brother called Adam and a sister called Rebecca so I guess all of those are options :)

Do you like traditional or modern names? xxx

3 syllable names seem to go well with your surname, but then you would probably get them shortened to a 1 syllable name again!

Can see why you are having a job finding a name!

I'm biased.. but Harrison sounds nice with Kidd :) x

I'm not too bothered whether they are modern or traditional, just looking for something which sounds good. Thanks girls for some of your suggestion they are nice names. One of my favs is Rebecca but I know too many people with that name. I had really liked Nicholas but I thought it may get shorted to Nick and I don't want them to be Nick Kidd.

I dont think Kidd is that strange, barr the exceptions you've mentioned.

Luke, Jack, James, Ryan, Max, Freddie, Arthur, Noah, Evan, Charlie

Jodie & Gemma spring to mind! Rosa, Phoebe, Alice, Isla, Lila, Maya, Francesca, Mila

?x

My OH nephew is called Ashley Kidd, & his nieces are Amber & Abbie Kidd.
His bro in law called Shane Kidd

What about your username? Willow Kidd sounds nice? x

hubby just suggested starknay so hes being very helpful lol

aka - stark naked lol

I know a few girl with the surname kidd.

They are called Holly, Hazel and Heather.

Willow is out as that waS the name of my pet rabbit I had years ago and don't think it would go down well to find out u were named after a rabbit. Sorry jojo but don't think starknay will be making it on our short list lol.

We joked we could use my grans maiden name as a middle name and go for a flower theme, rose Orr Kidd, Lily Orr Kidd (orchid)

Also biased but Matthew Kidd sounds good ;-) I know a Lisa Kidd. Not very helpful sorry! Good luck choosing x

lol my uncle used to call everyone orr kid (our kid) lol

If you haven't had and named your baby yet - Definitely go for one of the names you ruled out! Not enough people utilise funny uses of names imo and you have it ready and set for you to go!!
Obviously nothing too tragic, just enough that every time your child tells someone their name, everyone will need to take a second to appreciate the parents sense of humour....Amazing!!!!

Or yeah, go for a nice name, there are lots that no jokes could come from and Kidd isn't too much of an awkward surname. X

Ur right, I'm probably just really picky because I have worked in a school for about 10yrs so lots of names make me think of kids from work so I have ruled them out.

I really liked Nicholas for a boy until Sharon and Louis on X Factor kept saying it over and over and it started to sound like 'knicker-less' lol x

LOL I knew a couple surname Tress, and they were going to name their son Matthew until they realised what that would be shortened too... I like the idea of name meanings being considered too we really liked the name Kaitlynne Paige until I discovered that meant Innocent Serving Girl... and thought I would condemn her to a life in the adult film world! My sons name means Hound Lover of the Western Meadow which I quite like

Oh and Beatrix Kidd(o) should be avoided lol. (Unless you like the yellow latex look!)
