I done it a few years ago and it was great at first but when you start collecting books nobody leaves them outside, barely get orders and when you deliver the stuff either noone is there or they haven't got any money on them...so you always end up going to the same area loads o times! I suppose if you get a good area it's worth it but it wasn't for me..mind you the freebies were good and it's a good way to to get out an about with the baby!
I did it but am having problems now sending me a debt collectors letter saying I didn't return items when I did with THEIR courier !! Thieving buggers !!
oh doesnt sound great. I was looking online and a lot of people said that they never get books back and people are never in when they go to collect orders. I was thinking if I did it on my street and just rang doorbells and ask people if they want them instead of just dropping through the letter box? not sure what the rules are TBH. Also a few people have said that they set up an email address and took orders that way and they got a better response that way. I think Ill give it a go. Vix thats really worrying about the debt collectors tho :/ I hope you get it sorted out soon, not sure how youd get round that cos you cant get proof of delivery if they use their own couriers.
Im not doing it if I have to go anywhere in my car, I wanted to do it to get me and LO out the house with the pram. He gets loads of fresh air and I get loads of exercise and time away from the snack cupboard!! I CBA to get involved if Ive got to drive somewhere else!
Its going really well thanks hun. I just went round to collect more orders but most people were out and it was p***ing it down so Im like a drowned rat now!
LO fell asleep in the pram tho so when I got back Ive managed to have a bit of a tidy up and do the washing. If i include my orders (not sure whether to count my samples orders etc...?) Ive just tipped £200 so far. I def need more brochures next time. I think Im gonna order 30 cos its aright pain not being able to canvass everywhere when you run out
