Has anyone had any experience of auctioning goods, apart from ebay?

I inherited some jewellery when I was 18, and I would never want to sell it for no reason.

However, I'm never going to wear it. I worry having it in the house if that's the case, and now seems like the best possible use we could put the money towards something really significant. I really don't think it's the wrong thing to do.

How do I choose who to go through? I don't know whether it's really worth it after commission. Are there lots of charges? I couldn't quite figure it all out.

I think I need someone to hold my hand doing this!

there is a fee but you would have to check with the auctioneer as to how much it is.
The only trouble with auctions is things can go cheap if there arnt many bidders in the room so make sure you place a reserve on anything you sell.
Sometimes it is worth trying to private sell first.

Does that mean going into a jewellery shop that purchases second hand stuff? I know nothing! lol
