Attention seeking 18 month old

Ellis has started doing so many things for attention......

Pushing his knuckles into kylas head so she crys then he looks at me...

Kicking me when i change his bum...

Screaming SOOO high pitched at everything

I dont wanna tell him off cos i think thats why he is doing it but i dont want to ignore it either?????

I have similar sort of things with Ellie (in her case it is biting, banging cupboard doors in the kitchen) she is trying to get my attention. What I do is tell her "No - don't do xxx", and then turn away from her making it clear she is not going to get the attention. This does seem to be working a bit, and reducing how much she does it... then shortly later I give her a cuddle especially if she stops when I ask her to.

thanks for your reply nicky. I have had it perticular hard day of it today even to the point of things he normally loves like reading books in bed was not go enough and he had paddies about this too!! I can honestly say it is getting me down xxxx
