At 6 weeks pregnant

I hit 6 weeks pregnant on Wednesday & i experienced a little bit of cramping along with some light pink spotting it didn't last very long just a few hours then it went away

On Thursday it came back late afternoon but was very red & lasted for a few hours it wasn't enough to fill a pad & was only when i wiped

Today Friday it seems to have gone to brown but no where near as much as yesterday & only when i wipe.

Could i be having a miscarriage ?

I've called my doctor & i cant get an appointment until next Friday morning & i also called my local Early Pregnancy Unit but they cant accept me without my GP`s referral & my GP wont refer me without seeing me

Feeling very worried right now i`am thinking of booking a private scan with a private clinic but i`am scared they are going to tell me i`am miscarrying

Hi Hun I didn't want to read and run.

It is common to have some bleeding in early pregnancy. With your GP are you able to call in the mornings for a same day appointment or is it only a book ahead appointment?

Can you not call your doctors surgery in the morning and get an appointment same day?

I was told to present to a&e with bleeding if accompanied by cramps x

I hardly ever need to request an appointment with my doctor but unfortunately they operate a booking an appointment ahead only, I even asked for an emergency appointment but i was told that being pregnant isn't an emergency even with bleeding & that i would have to wait until the doctor can see me next Friday.

I would turn up at a&e if the bleeding gets worse.

How can they say it's not an emergency? What if it's ectopic? Then it's an emergency! I would either call and insist on an appointment or go to a&e if it gets worse xxx

If you ring NHS111 they should arrange an appointment at an out of hours doctor who should be able to refer you to EPU. I went through the same last Saturday when I had a bleed. Mine turned out to be caused by a water infection, I was given antibiotics and I had my scan on Wednesday and baby is fine, got to see its little heart beating away. Keeping my fingers crossed it's nothing serious for you x

I`am currently not having any cramping & the bleeding is now brown & not as much of it as there were, However if it changes again i`am going to go to a+e as this is my 3rd pregnancy & ive never experienced this before, It is worrying me about ectopic pregnancy as it happened to my sister & i saw what she went through but i`am trying to stay positive that is isnt X

Mine started off colour discharge then within about 30 mins bright red enough to leave a stain on a pad now it's like pink water but not enough to go on pad. Must say I have been absolutely terrified. I know they can't really do anything but biggest concern is if it's ectopic so just see what tomorrow brings!

i`ve pretty much had the same as you, I seem to still have brown looking old blood its not that much & only when i wipe its not going onto my underwear & ive stopped wearing a pad as there was nothing going on it. Ive not had any cramping since Wednesday & it didn't last for that long, I`am worried about what is going on as this is my 4th time being pregnant & ive never experienced anything like this before but i guess that they do say that every pregnancy is different, Ive looked up the symptoms for Ectopic pregnancy & i dont have any of them except for the bleeding. I also spoke to a lady on the telephone from the Early pregnancy unit & she told me not to worry that although bleeding in pregnancy is not normal its not uncommon & the amount of women that go into the unit everyday with bleeding are absolutely fine. Being pregnant is so hard as we worry about so many things, Me & my partner had a little talk last night before he went to work & we both agree what ever will be will be, There is nothing that we can do at this stage other than to look after ourselves & hope for the best. You're exactly right. We can't intervene. We just have to ride it out and hope the best outcome happens. I'm NOT looking forward to the scan but I'm looking forward to seeing what's going on. I'm hoping to meet our baby but if that's not the plan then I will pick myself up and move on.

I feel sad but im ok X

Ive been the same but they said it could be pregnancy symptoms. Try getting referred to early pregnancy unit. They've given me a card so if I get worse I can call them and go in 24/7!
Apart from feeling dizzy and tired I'm ok. It's just like brown now. I was getting cramps but I think that was from the ultrasound. But I'm in a position now where I'm feeling mostly ok so I've been able to be a bit more positive about it. A lot of people online have had these symptoms and a few days later found the baby on a scan so just going to cross my fingers.
Hope u get sorted too! But seriously just tell them what u want to happen. I've had other things happen to me over the years and learnt u HAVE to speak up. They will just ignore u and put u off. Don't let them!

It's completely unreasonable for you to have to wait so long to be seen in the circumstances. My GP referred me by telephone the day I called when I had bleeding, they didn't Ask to see me as there was no point, they can't do anything. We ended up paying for a private same day scan as the EPU offered me a scan 5 days after. I know I couldn't change the outcome but I just couldn't wait as I know I would have worried myself silly. I hope you get the GP to take action today. Bestcof luck xxx
