Last time I was pregnant I lived at home and my mam bought alot of the stuff for the baby so she got to choose it.

This time I want to do it all ourselves cos I think shopping for the baby is one of the best things about pregnancy! Yes it might sound selfish but choosing everything ourselves is something I've been lookin forward to ever since my BFP!

OH's mum and dad had their baby 3 months ago and now that they know we're having a boy they said they'll give us their moses basket, bath and loads of other stuff but I DONT WANT IT!

Im not being ungrateful and I appreciate it but I want to do things our way. The way things are going we'll be lucky if we get to choose anything for the baby.

I dont want to say no cos them and OH will be offended. What am I meant to do? :wall:

Tell them that you want everything new and are really exciting about the shopping part. They're probably just trying to help you out, doubt they realise you don't want the help. Tell them to save up the help for babysitting.

Tough one hun it'll be hard to not offend anyone, perhaps comprimise? except some of the suff (the boring bits like a bath and stuff) and insist on buying the other stuff, clothes, bedding, cot etc yourself because you know what you want.
