anyone else got this problem with their newly mobile babies?

alex has discovered he can stand up in his cot when i put him down for naps - no matter how tired he is he has at least a few goes at it before he gives in. normally he would doze off after five minuets but now its more like half an hour or more! i have to keep going back and laying im down

i can hear him now talking to his animals on his shelf and know he is stood up in there - he is knackered and keeps moaning but wont lie down!

anyone found a solution to this or will he just grow out of it when the novelty wears off?

Brody did this too, the novelty does wear off. When go to I put him down, I stand holding him in the darkened room for a minute, stroking his back and going "Shhhhhhhhh" then I place him in his cot. He just rolls over and goes to sleep now, and only stands up when he wakes up.

thanks will give it a try - thats how he always used to go to sleep in the day - and even if he did whinge it would only be for a few mins then he'd drfit off - but now even if he's dozy he wakes himself up by standing up and looking about his room (its pretty dark as i pull the blind down).

got him up now as he's totally awake - gonne be grumpy on the bus later!

LOL Damien does this, when I wake up in the morning, it's by him standing up and patting me on the head going mummmma mummmmmma
I hope he grows out of it, but he is ALWAYS climbing. Infact he is climbing on my leg as I type  He is a very determined active baby

alex is the same sami - if its higher than floor level - its gets climbed - whether its studry enough or not - i have geiven up trying to keep everything out of his way and trying to make sure he has a soft landing. once i let him fall down a few times he learnt how to get down gently and now hardly ever falls if he is against something solid. however we have climbed the empty buggy (a lightweight one!) and had that down on himself!

little whirlwinds at this age!

Damien hasn't worked out how to 'bump' down onto his bum yet, he just cries till I sit him down, then stands back up again  His latest is to see how many head injuries he can get in one day I think, he already has a line on his forehead where he headbutted the tv unit edge, silly boy. He climbed onto the travel cot yesterday which was packed up, then it moved forward and he fell right off it, he looked at me so shocked  had to laugh, I sat there watching him do the whole thing and he just ignored me when I said no.

So funny at this age aren't they

alex usually looks at me like i pushed him

my poor tv is covered in hand prints where he tries to stroke the meercats on animal planet

how is his feeding going now - is he eating better now?

xxxxxxxxxx

Well he'll eat his food now but won't always drink his milk, the only way he'll take it is if he is sleeping at night.
My TV is feeling the same, handprints, slobber, lovely! He doesn't stroke things though, he slaps them
He's dead clingy at the moment though, one because his teeth are coming through, and I also reckon he's worked out that another baby is coming, competition!

ah well at least the food thing is better than it was. alex was fussy lst week cos of a tummy bug and i was getting worried about how little he was having - i thought of you guys and how worrying it must be.

fingers crossed he keeps improving

Aimee has just started doing it and it's driving me mad. She can't quite stand up yet, she just goes on her knees the gets one foot down and cries cos shes stuck.

Ella went through this phase when she learnt how to stand in her cot! Its not so bad now she goes down easily again (touch wood)

Ella is also a determined little thing, there's no stopping her now she is into everything walking round the furniture trying to get the cookies last night haha! there so funny this age is so much fun!

he he - cheeky madam - got a sweet tooth already by the sounds of it?!

yes i have to admit as cheeky as he can be he is just so funny i spend 90% of my day laughing.

his latest is crawling off when i try to get him ready for bed after his bath. he goes so fast to get away his little bot wiggles! he starts of with his towel then loses it half way down the hall and carries on butt naked and squeeling with deight if we chase him :rotfl:
