Hi Ladies,

Are any of you planning on having a waterbirth? Or have you had a water birth with a previous pregnancy? I have been advised to have one to help with Pelvic pain and i'm actually really positive about it..

Its great that you can have gas and air while your in the water too..... it would be lovely to hear some stories etc. xx

I would like to use the birthing pool (they just got a brand new one) if its free. Not going to plan on it 100% because if I go overdue and need to be induced I don't think you're allowed in the pool etc. It would be amazing but I haven't planned for the birth because the majority of the time no ones plans actually go to plan! So if I get to use the pool it'll be a huge bonus :)

x

I'm the same as Pinky - I would love to use it but am totally open to the fact it may not happen. There is a bit of a baby boom round here at the mo so part of me thinks I might not even get a bed, let alone a pool - but in an ideal world I would love a water birth x

I dont really fancy using it, not really a water person at the best of times. Plus im hoping I just won't have time, i want to be in and out asap..

im hoping on having a water birth, just hope the pools available when its eventually my time to pop :D

Haha same here, I have visions of giving birth in the corridor! eeeek!

x

Id like a water birth too if i dont end up with a c section or anything. They have a few pools at my maternity suite so there should be one free x

I don't want one at all. I'm not a fan of water and if my whole body (to my shoulders) is under warm water I overheat and panic which is the last thing I want to do in labour!

I'm like you Snr, i'm hoping i'm in and out quick as I can - we can but hope! lol :) x

Watch this - I bet we have the longest labours out of everyone now just for saying that.. :(.

i think the pool looks fab i was in and the bath 3 times when in labour with my son its amazing how much the water helps i wouldnt rule it out... Every person i see around my bit just now is pregnant so i dread to think how busy the hospital is haha x

I'd really like a water birth if possible - even if i don't deliver in the water, I'd like to spend most of my labour in there...

im like you hopefullmummy. i would love a water birth but would be happy with just being able to spend time in there even if i can give birth in there. chances are it will not be avalible when i go into labour though. just going to keep my fingers crossed and get in th bath if i can whilst at home incase i cant use the pool. xxx

I would love a water birth, but not counting on it as there is only one at my hospital and I am already a week late so may be induced in the end. However all the rooms are ensuite with baths so may use a bath for pain relief for a while. Everyone I know who's had a water birth said it was fab. X

Two 3 day labours coming up!! ha ha ha

I have seriously deluded myself into thinking i'll give birth at 9am and be home in time for my dinner!! :oooo: x

hey, I have requested a water birth; though I get the feeling it won't turn out as I expected and will end up having it elsewhere... but I want one anyway x

Really interesting to see that some of you love the idea and some of you aren't keen :)...

They have just opened up a brand new birthing section to my local hospital with apparently 3 birthing pools, so i think there is a good chance i can nab one :bath:

Here is an actual picture of one from the hospital website - how much fun does that look!! ??
