i was just wondering if I could eat runny eggs now that I'm 29 weeks pregnant, or is it still a no-no?

hmmm i'm not sure. I think its the white of the egg that is the risky bit anyway

no its the yolk as well and you still aint supposed to have it sorry. i have indulged once or twice during my pregnancy tho (shhh!!) strange thing is tho i dont even like the yolk of the egg but have fancied it all thru pregnancy lol.

xxxxx

Ive had cravings for runny egg, its seriously driving me mad cos I know i cant have it :( :wall:

Well i have had them, i HAD to have them..lol
i have bought decent eggs to be honest just so i could have them, i have gone for free range organic eggs that have the lion mark, my sis in law has chickens and i wont eat the eggs from them though as i need to be sure they are regularly checked and vaccinated and i know hers arent, they are just left to roam and lay, i was also worried about rare steak as thats the thing i had a few of before being told i couldnt eat i but my midwife told me i would have to eat a hell of alot of it for it to make a difference, just think of all the women all over the world look at France for instance i think babies would be extinct dont you? cheese and wine is what they live on over there.x

i have them.. mw said no runny eggs.. i said tough im having them.. she just looked at me funny.. i said we have our own chickens..i dont think theres a risk.. she said.. the more you know about where your food comes from the more likly it is to being fresh and unharmfull. she said you will be fine as long as they are fresh.

If you can find eggs that have been pasteurised (not sure what eggs are though) then you should be OK and this kills bacteria that could cause salmonella.

theres hardly any risk.. whos had food poisioning from an egg b4???

i aint.. so i aint gonan stop eatting them

I personally think its all rubbish!!!... I haven't been told not to eat anything when I got pregnant this time, only to avoid spicy food or undercooked meats.... and I just can't believe that just because in the UK they have a huge list of what you can and cannot eat means that the UK has more healthy babies or less miscarriages than other countries in the developed world. :wall:

The only reason why there might be more babies born in Spain with a disability is because its a hugely Catholic country, abortion is only legal if two doctors agree that it is in the best interest of both mother and baby (i.e. Downs syndrome is not considered a good enough reason for abortion)...and most people choose not to have an abortion and keep the baby, regardless, because it is considered a mortal sin not to.

And on top of that, I have never once seen a Spanish kid in my daughter's class take out an inhaler...and ADHD.. well that's unheard off...

yeah i suppose different countries have different laws/customs/etc.

I have always eaten on pregnancy what i wanted too, the guidelines i followed were about the tuna, shark and pate.

I ignored the following - np nuts (i ate loads of peanut butter)

Ate loads of prawns and was happy doing so and didnt get sick off them.

And had my steak cooked at medium, i didnt have rare as much as i wanted too!

No problrms with the kids with allergys though immys too early to tell, but stephen is fine and loves prawns and eats nuts!

You cant beat a nice poached egg on toast! i just had that for my dinner.x

the risk is still there and it's advised against until you're no longer pregnant. But it's really up to you. My colleague had them all the way through.

It is unlikely that you'll get food poisoning from a runny egg, but I avoid them just in case.

K.xxx
