Hi everyone

Just wondering if anyone else had been to aquanatal?

I've just been for first time today and it was brilliant, really gentle exercise and relaxing too. My friend went with me so we had a giggle. On plus side it was my midwife who was doing lasses so it's nice to be able to see her regular cos i can hound her with questions.. poor woman :rotfl:

I feel as though I could sleep for hours

I've been to regular aqua classes at my local gym, but these are not tailored for pregnant women.

I was thinking about this today because want to keep as fit as possible - will need to phone about and see if any of the pools near me do these classes. Glad you enjoyed yours x

im starting my first class on thursday but i used to do aquafit before getting pg. im quite looking forward :D

I wanted to do them but my local centre cancelled the antenatal classes they offered (pool and gym based classes) as they were not as busy and proffitable as running a 'normal' class. I was so upset about that as I kinda figured the council/government should MAKE them provide at least one class per week which is tailored....they wouldn't get away without running a rehabilitation class (i.e for those recently out of surgery or those suffering with a degenital disease such as Parkinsons) but they can cancel maternity classes. Drives me nuts.

start mine on monday night next week, looking forward to it. It is a course of 6 classes, was about £25 so hope it is worth it!

I hope everyone who is about to start them enjoys them, i think they are a really good way of keeping fit during pregnancy.

i went to my first aquanatal class today and it was excellent :D

the water took the weight of my bump and i felt so much lighter for an hour.

everybody in the class knew each other from a local antenatal class (not local to me tho) but they were really friendly and made me feel welcome. there were 4 pg women, one new mum, 2 mw's and one student mw. we all had a laugh. it was really relaxing and i felt like my bones had been pulled apart a bit (in a good way!). one of the mw's showed me how to help with my back ache.

Im sorry im raving about it but i would recommend it
