Hey

Just wondering if anyone has gone or goes to any classes like aquanatal. I have been really struggling with my depression this pregnancy and have been doing it with no medication. Just looking to try and get myself out and about a bit more and seen a class running at a local pool.

I'm just worried my anxiety will get the better of me and everyone will be judgy and cliquey...

Anyone had any experience with this or any other suggestions as to what i could do as a hobby. Lol.

Still working full time until May and i have a 4 year old so not got loads of free time.

I'd love to go to aqua natal classes, but I haven't found any near me. I started pregnancy yoga though, and had the exact same fears as you. I was worried that it was going to be full of perfect yummy mummies, too rich and tanned to want to talk to me! Turns out that it's a real mix, but most people are VERY down-to-earth, open and also suffer from the same pregnancy grumpiness that I do :D

Physically, it's been amazing, but it's also really reassuring seeing women at 38, 39, 40 weeks, quite possibly in the early stages of labour (that was at my first session!), just chilling out and going with the flow.

Ultimately, if people do seem cliquey or unfriendly, it could be down to pregnancy grumpiness, or they could be twats. Don't let a fear of twats keep you from doing something that might be really good for you!

I went to aquarobics with my second and did a toned version which helped keep me fit. No one really talked to anyone at it, we just got in, exercised, and got out again. I highly recommend it as it eases your back so much when bump gets bigger

Thanks ladies. I think I'm definitely going to sign up when i finish up in May for mat leave. My back is already killing me so anything that can help ease that pain is a bonus.

I've done aquanatal with all my pregnancies and can't recommend it enough honestly Hun take the plunge and go for it! Why would people be judge or cliquey, most people are just normal mums like yourself who are hoping to get some exercise and maybe meet other mums :) ots really good gentle exercise that helps with pregnancy aches and pains and there's the social side too, local class is fantastic and sets up a facebook group for us all to keep in touch and I count some of the ladies I've met at aquanatal my last 2pregnancies as really good friends now, hopefully your group will be the same (iif it's not then why not suggest it!) give it a go Hun you've nothing to lose xx

I also do pregnancy yoga which has been nice so far but quite small classes so looking forward to meeting a bigger group. Definitely want to try aquanatal too. Go for it! Exercise will release endorphins too so should give your mood a nice, positive boost!

I'm doing aqua natal and pregnancy yoga, both are lovely groups and it's nice to get to know people too! I've really enjoyed them, hope you do if you go too :)
