Hi all, so I've been exclusively breastfeeding but I'm now introducing formula slowly so that I can comfortably stop when I go back to work. I've decided to go with aptimal and can see it needs to be made with boiling water, but can then only be left at room temp for a couple of hours. Am I going to have to faff about in the kitchen in the middle of the night? I've brought a flask for when I'm out and about, but I don't think it would keep the water hot enough after say 5 hours which is what he usually sleeps at night. Xxx

I bought the tommie tippie flask hun.. Its basically a metal one really so u houldnt have to worry about buying it.. Urs should do.
Ours lasts ALL night!! I fill it right up with boiling hot water at 11pm and still by 8am its hot!

I make up 4oz of cooled boiled water in his bottleand then add 2oz of boiling water then add the formula.( i got lil travel pots i bring up with 6oz ready in) but u could easily bring up the tub.. It literally needs cooling for Bout a minute max and its perfect temp for him.

When making his 5oz bottles i did 4oz cooled boiled then 1oz boiling and that didnt need cooling down tht was always perfect.

Find this much better for the nights cos within a minute bottles ready!

Another thing u might wanna try.. If atm ur only giving 1 bottle of formula a day it might work out cheaper and easier for u to buy te ready made cartons hun!

:) xx

That's the flask I've got., wow does it really last that long?! That would be really useful then! If its hot enough I guess I could make the formula with a lesser amount of hot water then add the cooled water after? In gonna have about 4 different pots and packaged haha! Anything to not have to properly get out of bed! Xxx

Aww fab u got that one!! Yeh honestly its great aslong as the kettle has just boiled and u put it in it lasts!! I use to take it out with us aswell but now i buy the ready made ones if we r out for aaaages! That flask dnt half way down my chaning bag lol!

I make up all his bottles with boiling sterilsed water and leave them on the kitchen worktop with lid on to cool for the day and just add fresh boiled water for eat feed then formula. Its the easiest way we have found and it works great! Spesh when he decides he wants a feed earlier than planned and u gotta quickly make up one! Lol.

Hope it works well for u hun ;) xxx

It is fantastic. Just one criticism though... It doesn't make cappuccino for me at the same time :)
