I ws just about to post about this ! I have just had emerg c section and have an overhang - I cant remember ever having this with my normal delivery!!!!! CAn anyone just give me some handy tips on recovery following c section!?? x

Nah you get a little raised scar line, and a slight tubbier bit on the top side of the scar, but Iv'e had 5 section ops now and so my scar line is fairly raised now, but no one would know even if I just wore pants. but I think you could easily get the apron belly from normal deliv too. once your able get back on tum exersizes and it will pull it up somewhat... and swelling from section will go down a bit with time.. it's so not as bad as it sounds if you tone up afterwards.. Yourll aways have the extr skin from carrying baby tho but with some hard work it will be near good as new in time

Same :(

If you think about it, if you have any baby tum straight after a natural birth, it will just be there and can wobbble up and down or float smoothly, with no restrictions.

If you have a section, due to the scar line being a fixed point on tum, where underneath its tight and non moving, then any extra skinage etc will have to naturally rest , come to a stop on this fixed line, (the scar). I find by doing stomach work , it can pull up, tighten up the higher section of tum and so not so much skin etc will come to a stop, rest o this fixed line, hope that makes sense. It won't illiminate it, but will make it ok and really quite acceptable over time..

Don't worry about something thats soo recent, give it time.

I have a slight overhang, I put on four stone with S and she was 9lb 14oz meaning that I went from a size 8 to 13 and a half stone virtually overnight, my skin did alot of stretching and I have the marks to show for it! My problem was that my tummy muscles split quite badly, I Was unable to excersize for a long time after my section and so it has taken me over a year to lose 3 of the 4 stone that I gained, My overhang has improved in the last few months but I don't think it will ever be gone due to the amount that my skin stretched!

I would advise anybody not to rush your recovery. It takes time, don't expect too much too quickly and try not to be hard on yourself or your body.

I got a little bit too but odly i don't mind at all. There's a good reason for it and she's sat on my knee.

I expected it to look so much worse and for the recovery to be awful but for me its been so easy. I've got a sinus infection this week and its more painful. Lol.

Take it easy girls! Its early days xx

Sent from my BlackBerry using Tapatalk-its rubbish tho so can't see tickers or upload pics!
