Starting using this yesterday as didn't feel Infacol was working as well as it has and LO is quite gripey at the moment. She is 9 weeks old. Not sure if it's really working yet but she is quite sick compared to normal. Has this happened to other people and does it settle down if so?

I haven't tried colief, I've just stuck with infacol. Were you giving Evie 2 doses? I've had to up to 2 for Bertie. We tried gripe water and he spat it in my face

I tried it, I don't think it worked though.

Gripe water really gets the farts out though!

I've been using it for weeks n has helped us massively. He's always been a sicky baby though so no diff with the colief. Seemed to kick in quite instantly for us..

I'd say give it another few days xxx

Yes I'm beginning to think I've made a terrible mistake! Only bloody did it cause my neighbour who's a pharmacist suggested it. Vomit city!! She's had three babygrows on this morning and hubby has had two changes of top!! Going to finish this feed and go back on the Infacol and ride it out til the three month mark!!

I tried it and didn't see a difference.

I ended up giving H her bottle and when she had about an oz left i would add the gripe water in with the bottle and she would drink it that way. Used to work wonders with her wind. Infacol was useless x

That's a good idea about the gripe water!! Thanks! I found it worked but wrestling the stuff into her was a nightmare! I'll give it a try.

I used to use them all and didnt dare stop incase they were working and she got worse.

When we were admitted we had nothing and they told us not to bother and I didn't notice a massive different. She burps on her own really. I do notice a big increase in farts when we use the gripe water though, she only gets a half dose a day now before bed.

Gripe waters the way forward Helen!! I haven't tried coilef cos it's so bloody expensive and Harry's not that bad that I could be bothered getting a prescription for it.

He's been lots better and just this week we've introduced him to a bottle so daddy can give him the gripe water with about an oz of my expressed milk.

We're killing two birds with one stone by getting gripe water in (he wasn't keen on it by syringe) and also introducing a bottle so at some point I can start expressing a bit more xx

I think infacol and colief actually do different jobs for one problem? The infacol helps to bring the wind up and the colief breaks down the lactose in the milk so theres less problems digesting it.

Colief does work but it's expensive. I moved Sophie on to comfort milk which has less lactose in it or something so probably does the same job as colief but cheaper? I can't comment fully though as I moved her onto comfort milk when her colic was as its best really.

yeah colief doesnt help with wind it helps break down the milk so its digested easier relieving tummy pain....

xx

Colief was a godsend for my LO but it was because she had a problem digesting the lactose in the milk. Infacol and Colief do different things, we used them together at first but by 4 months her tummy had matured enough we were able to wean her off the Colief. Tried to at 3 months but she still wasn't right, sounds like Gripe water may be better. We occasionally used to gripe water with her too and I found it very effective when she had a bad gripey tummy - got lots of wind up/out!
