Hey Chaz,

so sorry to hear you are struggling with IBS, I used to work with people with bowel difficulties and to be honest the best thing you can do for your bowel and yourself is to really keep your body hydrated. I know its difficult when you're pregnant especially because you need to wee all the time but water is your best friend at this time and a minimum of 2 litres a day is going to allow your bowel to function effectively.

Try to be really careful with food combining, that is, when you have a meal avoid eating fruit after - in fact if you can try to limit the fruit to mornings and lunch but not late afternoons and evenings. Fruit tends to be passed through the body alot quicker than other food substances and can cause wind. bloating and the runs if eaten after a meal.

If you are finding you get the runs, avoid spicy and strongly flavoured foods for a few days and see if things improve.

Fibre is all good and well but if you aren't drinking the water your body and bowel needs the fibre rich foods can end up leaving you clogged/blocked up instead.

It could well be that baby is in such a position that your bowel is being compromised too, so just take it easy and nature will definitely take its course.

Xxx

ps think you are amazing to be on baby number 6

thanks for the info with the fruit i do drink aload of water esp when preg as i got a pee infection with my 4th and it turned into blood poisoning so ended up been admitted to hosp for a fortnight in middle of summer while preg all because i didnt drink enough water so thats all i do is drink glass after glass of water lol but def will try that with the fruit or as my kids call it sports candy (lazytown  )

I dont have IBS but in pregnancy my bowels have a mind of there own! Im either not going for days....or I cant stop going     and thats certainly not nice, so I can kind of sympathise with what your experiencing!! Hope it eases off for you soon
