bit of a biology question for you! :-
i'v really come down with a nasty cold within the last 48 hours and i'm wondering, if LO is feeling ill too? i really hope not!
then i thought, at least it is one cold she'll be immune to when she comes out! i kno there are millions of colds, and once you'v had one ur immune to it forever, i wonder if LO will be immune to all the ones i'v EVER had then?
does anyone kno the answers!
oh i really hope LO's not got the cold too!

I'm not sure about whether LO feels ill when you do or not, I must admit I have wondered that myself!

If I remember rightly though, your baby is protected by mothers immunity for around 6 weeks after birth, unless you breastfeed and then it is extended.

But after this expires then baby has to build up his/her own resistance to colds/flu's etc

There are a few diseases where immunity is passed on permanently though, can't remember which though!

Some tests have been done on LO's responses to our emotional state though, and there's suggestion if you're happy LO will be.

I dont think they feel that your sick, but i think they know if your have a decreased appetite and not drinking many fluids also when yoru sick you aree usually more tense which im sure they are aware of
