anyone know how to change a battery in digital thermometer??

I have 2 digital thermometers and both of them the batteries had gone (one of them was brand new, still in the packet!!!!! - albeit I'd had it for over a year), anyway just went and bought 2 new batteries, changed em both and now one is still saying 'lo' and the battery thingy flashing and the other just comes up with 'err', I am sooooo annoyed, does anyone know what I meant have done wrong????, else I'm gonna have to go and buy another

Is it the in-ear ones? Ours is broken completely now as I dropped it (oops) but it used to come up lo/err if it was too cold. We just left it in a warmer room for a while and after it worked fine.

i'll try that, thanks. one of them the battery sign is still flashing - think i'll jus get a new one! bloody things!
