Anyone know about social funding

Its quite a tricky one, one im fighting for because I feel we have a right to claim
When Bailey died, I was claiming Child tax credits, Higher amount because he was under 1, they carried on paying me for 8 weeks, taking it to end of July, I had my claim closed due to the boys living with my mum, Im now waiting to re claim as they are home, But this is the question
Do i have to be claiming now, when i try and claim for funeral grant, or when Bailey died
Also does anyone know the time limit i can claim if i have to claiming child tax credits, cos they not pulling there fingers out to sort it out!
Im not on any other benefits either

Firstly can I say i am so sorry for your loss

I think that you have to be receiving a qualifying benefit at the time of making the claim and not necessarily what you were receiving at the time of the death.
