Anyone had unstimulated IUI?

Hi ladies

I have been ttc no2 for 2 and a half years. Me and DH had tests and came back all clear. My next step is to try IUI or IVF. Doctor won’t give me clomid as I ovulate on my own.

I am considering having the unstimulated IUI cycle. Has anyone tryed this and what can I expect?

Hi pop, I did back in April. If I remember rightly I had a scan around day 2 or 3, monitored with opks, went back for a scan around Day 12 or 13 and they decided to trigger me then and do the iui 24 hrs later. There may have been one more scan a couple of days before, I can’t remember. I hadn’t planned to trigger, I wanted it to be completely natural, but they advised it. That was the Lister clinic. They then put me on progesterone supplements. I have a very regular cycle so it was pretty easy to work out dates etc. Resulted in a chemical pregnancy for me.

I’m sorry to hear u haven’t had any good luck yet 🙁 I may sound silly but I am not quite sure what a chemical pregnancy is, is it like an early miscarriage?

Thank u for your experience, it’s scary when you don’t know what to expect.

May I ask, have u been diagnosed with a medical reason or have the doctors just said it’s unexplained infertility like I’ve been told.

Hi, no question is silly A chemical pregnancy is when it’s been confirmed by a home test or bloods but you miscarry before you would have seen anything on the scan.

It’s just egg quality for me due to age, I ovulate regularly and my hormone levels are excellent, i’m moving on to donor eggs now.
