Hi. Im 8+6 and have stayed off work today as last night i had bad stomach ache, the kind you get when got diarrhoea. Went toilet a few times last night and now it seems to have settled, but mother-in-law said not to go in as i rarely miss a day and she said its just important i rest and do very little.

ive had dull tummy ache most evenings and because there's no bleeding, ive assumed its stretching pains etc. , but just wanted to see if any of you have had unusal bowel movement ( putting it politely!) during early pregnancy?

I know stomach cramps arent good, but mine have never been unbearable at all. We went for a carvery last night and i ate very well actually, ending up with ice-cream ( the home-made stuff) for pudding so though it could be that maybe as havnt been eating ice-cream so far.

Pregnancy is so confusing! But if anyone has had similar thing to me, id really appreciate hearing from you! havnt had any sickness at all, have just felt off several times, so so far i consider myself quite lucky. Te further along i get withthis pregnancy, the more i realise how important it is to rest when can i guess, because id be devastated if anything was to go wrong.

Thank you and take care.

I had this alot in my first tri. With both babies actually.
Sometimes during pregnancy your bosy can become more sensitive to certain foods and drinks and unfortunately your tummy just wont be pleased with you for a day or so
Just another joy of pregnancy. I'm 20 weeks and it's still happening every now and then

I'm so glad you posted this cos my tummy has been pretty upset since yesterday and I was wondering too if it could be related to the pregnancy. Looks like it may be!

Oh Yes!! In fact I had no morning sickness at all but nausea and I'm afraid rushing to the loo after any large-ish meal! I read it's actually classed as a symptom of morning sickness, as is nausea. Mine has passed now but not pleasant for a few weeks in the first Tri. Stay hydrated, and small regular meals worked well for me!

Not exactly diarrhoea but not far off!! An upset tummy every now and then, and very early on I was woken in the night with the tummy aches related to an upset tummy. To be honest, nothing is coming as a suprise to me at the moment. Just found out I've got a water infection - another apparently common complaint during pregnancy. Great!

Hello im 4 weeks pregnant and yep...bowels are self n same here :wall2: Im carrying my first, ive also had dull aches n stretching pains and then UNBEARABLE cramps that only last for a few mins (touch wood) once ive ..erm emptied my bowels the pain goes. So reading here it seems pretty normal... Just something we'll have to endure all the best with your pregnancy

Hi,

I had no sickness at all but had a weekend on the sofa with bad stomach pain. I rang the docs and they asked to see me even though I'd had no sickness and squits at this point. I had no bleeding either so they weren't overly concerned. But the doc examined me and explained that the stomach gets really sensitive in pregnancy and the lining is very easily irritated. She said I probably had gastritis and maybe stomach ulcers or a stomach bug, but she said that it wouldn't affect the baby as it's still tucked well away from all that.

I then went home and spent the next couple of days on the loo - was very painful~!!! Was either a stomach bug or just normal pregnancy sensitivity. I'd eaten nothing unusual or dodgy!

Hope you're feeling better now!

Funnily enough I had a bad stomach the day before I found out I was pregnant and everythings okay (as far as I kno ) :)
