Well I went for one last night, and to be honest I was pretty disappointed with it.
the scan was great, and we got to see what we went there for.
But, we paid £79, and literally, we got into the room, led on the couch, she looked at baby between the legs, then moved over so we could see all of the baby. then took a couple of pictures, then moved back again to take a detailed look between the legs took a picture, and that was it...

i was literally led on that couch for 5 mins at the most. in fact it was properly a lot less that that. 3 or 4 mins.

and we got 4 pictures printed off.

at the time i was just so high about finding out we were having a girl that i didnt think much about it being such a little amount of time for the money we paid. but now, im pretty peed off.

the nhs dating scan we saw more of baby for longer than we did last night.

now im not sure if i can ring and complain, or if i really have any reason to complain because it doesn't say anywhere about how long the scan lasts.

what do you all think?

Not had experiance with babybond chick, but maybe because your scan was booked quite late on that she was rushing to get home???

If you wasn't happy i would ring and complain anyway regardless of how long the scan should have lasted.

I had a Babybond scan at 16 weeks and was quite disappointed too. Had the exact same experience as you, was over in a few mins. I had it done as hubby was going to be away at 20 week scan so wanted to find out the sex before he left

I'd be disappointed too.

I didnt go with baby bond, but when i had my private scan we were looking at baby for at least half an hour and the people were very polite, pointing out what all the bits were, and we didnt pay extra to know the sex, we just had to make it clear whether we wanted to know or not at the start.

It's a lot of money to pay to not be happy

I'd think if it was a gender scan then it would be pretty quick tbh. They are not offering to provide more than that information so I can't see they would hang around.

I'd only expect it to go on a bit longer if baby was hiding. And if they were unable to tell you then, to invite you back for another scan later on.

as it was just a gender scan and not an "early scan" or "reassurance scan".... i think what you got was what you paid for really....

You wanted to find out the gender.. which you did...?

Chuffed its a girl for ya, ive briefly read a post were you were really wanting a lady :)

i was delighted with my babybond scan, lasted 20 minutes and was also a gender scan. i paid the extra for the 2D DVD of the scan which they attached a song of our choice to, i also got 4 pictures printed.

i didnt have any problems with it being disappointing at all and would recommend it to anyone.

I had my sexing scan at babybond and I couldnt fault them at all, they were wonderful. We had a good 40 minute scan and saw all of baby in detail, but couldnt see the important bits so went for a walk and came back, then had another 20 minutes! They were really lovely and helpful, very patient and willing to keep trying. We also had about 10 pictures printed off, of all different angles and body parts. Personally I would highly recommend them and just cant praise them high enough, they made it a really special experience for us. In fact Ive just been looking into having a 4d scan with them as well.

Perhaps it was just because you had booked it late and they wanted to get home? Or maybe just having a bad day. Obviously every clinic will be different and have different staff so you cant really compare one to another, but Im sorry you feel disappointed and if I was you I would ring and complain anyway.

I had a sexing scan at babybond and i couldn't fault them... we paid £110/ 120 i can't remember for ; to find out the sex, 6 pic's and 10 min dvd :)

yeah i think im going to leave it. your right - we did get what we paid for, which was to find out what baby's gender was.

i dont think we'll go back to them for my 4d scan. there is a place we used last time just down the road (they didnt do a gender scan this early) so im pretty sure we'll go back to them.

thanks for the input girls!

yep that's the same experience we had with our babybond gender scan, probs took about 8 minutes or so.

we paid £145 though and got to go back at 28 weeks for the babybond portraits part :D we had the gender part at 24 weeks and the pictures on 4d weren't great at that stage, at 28 weeks they were fab though :D if you want a 4d you could contact them and explain the situation and they might offer you the same they gave me? when we went back for the 4d part it took about 25 mins :D

I had a great experience. I saw my little star for a good 15 mins and got to see 3D images. I only got 4 pics. 2 were 2D and the other 2 were 3D. I was 19 weeks at the time. xxx

I used Babybond. Pleased with the outcome and got what I went in for but it was rather speedy!! Really it depends on the package you pay for. The cheapest one is literally scan, boy/girl and a printed piccie or two. The next one up also offers viewings of 3D images etc and better photo's.....they also do well being scans where you get to see LO for ages because they check everything a zillion times over - they make a killing on their scans anyway what ever package people choose.
