hi guys,

we're going to have our babybond anomaly scan done next month hopefully the 16th. was wondering if anyone whos had one can tell me if they paid for it when they booked it, or if you paid on the day?

it would be a lot easier if we could pay next month because we're trying to clear the credit card, etc before baby comes, so paying out a fortune each month at the moment

just phoned and tried to book for the 16th but because i'll be 23+ a few days the women said they won't do it despite it saying on the website that they do it upto 24 weeks

now i'm really stuck and don't know what to do i really wanted this anomaly scan. babybond is the only clinic in my area that do it and nhs won't give us one

any suggestions are welcome..

Can you not bring it forward? If they need to do it by a certain time then I'd go for it.

Are there no Nuffield hospitals in your area? They also do scans. They invoice you afterwards also via post. And you have 2 weeks to clear the invoice.

I went to one of them for my 12 week and Nuchal and they were lovely.

we can't really bring it forward because of money this month also there is a nuffield, the anomaly scan is £200 though babybond were doing the exact same for £150

how did you find the nuffield? xx

TBH I'd say its worth the extra £50 if it gives you your results and peace of mind. Plus my experiences of Nuffield have always been lovely, very calm, not rushed and lots of time spent on you.

If you phone the Nuffield direct and explain what scan you want etc they should put you through to someone who can book you in. Enquire then as to payment options to make sure they bill you after the scan and you have two weeks or however long to settle the invoice.

That way you know what you need to afford and for when

i'll give them a phone shortly i just didn't really know much about the nuffield, and i'd heard a lot of good reviews for babybond.. i'll take your word though hun

they don't do the invoicing here, but they like to do the scan between 20-26 weeks, and i'll be 24wks by then so it works out fab as oh gets paid the 15th

Honestly, I've throughly enjoyed my appointment and scans with them. My 12 week one was lovely, we were in there about 45 minutes all up. Plus the doctor (specialised in Obstetrics & Gynaecology; Ultrasound; Urogynaecology; Ultrasound; Urogynaecology; Stress Management; Medicolegal reporting; 4D scanning ) was lovely. Very quiet, took an interest, asked questions, got some background on hubby and I and then took us through all the tests and what kind of results he would be hoping for, and explained all the possibles etc.

Really put us at ease and then when we finally went to the adjoining room for the scan, he talked us both through everything, let us ask questions and so on.

I know for the anomaly scan they are needing to pay close attention to everything so may be a bit quieter during the scan, so don't worry, they are busy concentrating, not ignoring you. I asked all my questions at the end and we got an explanation as we went also, but then some quiet spells while measurements etc were taken.

Glad you got it sorted. Shame you have to pay though. At least they'll take their time over it seeing as you're paying
