So I've had the tommee tippee digital video and sensor mat monitor since I had my daughter at the end of 2014. The problem is that the parent unit has developed a fault, the screen intermittently doesn't work and often doesn't charge either. So I contacted tommee tippee and they asked me to send in photos of the unit which i did and they replied saying 'from the photo it appears your charging pin has split in half so it isn't charging and that is not a manufacturing fault so we will not repair or replace.' Only thing is I have no idea how they could possibly tell from the photo I sent as the but they are talking about is inside. So my brother has the same monitor and got him to photograph his working Unit and it looks identical to mine. So I think they are just giving me a load of BS. Anyone had a similar problem? X

I have this, since September 2014. Last summer I awoke and thought I heard my LO, looked at the monitor and she was sleeping soundly. Couldn't get back over, could still 'hear' her so after 5 minutes it got the better of me & I went to check on her where I found her standing up. I carried her through to my room and the monitor still showed her sleeping!!! I was furious and messaged TT to which I got 'sorry, but we can't fix it, or replace it' basically.... fortunately we haven't had this problem since and I'm not sure what caused it.

I don't think they'd be able to tell from photo but that would suggest why it sometimes doesn't charge. So they've probably just assumed. Horrible that they don't seem to care and it's such a vital piece of equipment. X

Thanks for the reply. I eventually have resolved the issue. Basically I sent the same message I had emailed the support team to the Facebook branch of the support team and they came back and said 'we can see your pin is intact so it could possibly be your battery or the charger and we'll send you new ones of those for free'. I resisted the urge to tell them their colleagues had told me the total opposite and accepted the replacement parts. Turns out it was the charger and it is now charging perfectly fine. Although they can't resolve our other problem with it, that as soon as our wifi is used the unit loses the link and the alarm goes off. They've told us how to do a hard reset which then gets it to change broadcast channel and that does work but we are having to do it almost daily for it to work x
