Hi everyone I'm about 10 weeks pregnant and been suffering quite badly with 24/7 nausea for the last 4/5 weeks. I think it's got a bit worse this week and it's starting to really get me down. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat and if anyone has found anything that eases it? Mints, hard sweets and fizzy drinks used to help me but now they just make me feel more ill. I've lost almost a stone and am living on toast at the minute which can't be good for baby. I'm just hoping it eases soon although I think I had it until about 18 weeks with my last baby!!! Xx

I'd get in touch with your doc or midwife if you feel it's that bad. I've heard ginger is good for easing sickness; ginger tea, biscuits, crystallised

No advice other than I really sympathise! I had it til 24 weeks with dd nothing worked sickness drugs stopped the vomiting but nothing stopped the nausea I used to cry coz I felt so bad this time it eased about 13 weeks but still nauseas in the evenings now xx

I had it till about 7-8 months my last pregnancy. It did get a bit better after 20 weeks (didn't have to vomit every day anymore). You don't feel like it, but you really have to eat and drink. With me it helped to eat a little bit every hour. As soon as I didn't, I was sick. Also, take the medication they give you. At first I didn't want to but that was NOT a good idea. Even if it only helps a little, you get worse without it. Good luck! Hope it passes soon for you :-(

Thanks everyone. I got meds from doc but they made me too drowsy to drive and didn't seem to ease the sickness so I gave up on them. I find just lying still is only thing helping at the minute which isn't easy with kids about! I don't know how any of you with severe morning sickness cope esp if it goes on til 7/8 months it's a horrible feeling. I just keep telling myself it'll be worth it xx

I can sympathise with this completely - I had sickness 5 times a day til i was 30 weeks pregnant with my last pregnancy! Nothing really helped me and I was borderline needing to go on a drip but never went on one xx

I completely sympathise with you altho the sickness tablets did help with me, They did make me drowsy but I was off work and didn't drive till I felt able, mine has eased a lot I was sick from 8-12 weeks 4times daily then from 12-17 weeks maybe once a week. I've only been sick 4times since 17weeks and that was last night,I'm now 21weeks,hoping it stops completely soon. FX you start feeling better son. Xx

Thanks girls I am feeling sorry for myself need to snap out of it as I think it makes matters worse. I actually took the kids to the cinema - major achievement- which took my mind off it although the place STANK I can literally smell everything at the minute lol. The things we have to go through for these babies eh!!! Xx

I know tell me about it! I remember when I was pregnant with sofia I just couldn't function normally at all I felt soooo rubbish xxx

Ginger biscuits help and eating little but often. I also find sipping drinks through a straw so you're only taking small sips helps x

I've been really bad over Christmas, being sick on average about 10 times a day! I think the manic lead up, rushing about, fatty foods and having a bad cold really didn't help! Yesterday was much better, I was only sick once and didn't even feel that sick throughout the day! This morning I have woken up, thrown up twice and I'm currently sitting in bed sipping water and nibbling ginger biscuits trying to build up the courage to go for a shower! I really hope it goes completely soon, I'm not looking forward to going back to work next week at all! xx

Oh unicorn that's awful. Hope things improve for you v soon. Roll on trimester 2 and no more horrible sickness the thought of it is only thing keeping me going. Hugs to everyone suffering xx

I have been suffering too hon. I feel like I have something stuck under my ribs and it makes me feel really sick. I too have lost nearly a stone in weight since 8 weeks. My symptoms eased up about 10 weeks then came back with a vengeance!

I sympathise with the sense of smell. Everything smells like soggy toast and it doesn't help! I can't go in the kitchen without vomiting these days

I had it my entire pregnancy.. I literally projectile vomited though, it wasn't just nausea.. What helped for me was to actually get it out, as I had feeling sick more than actually being sick... Drink about half a glass of water to a full one, then let it out.. it would never all come back up and it eased my sickness until I had to go again.. I could only eat what I craved which helped me from being sick at times..
