..Or even before, thinking of this now as my next form of contraception.

Not been on the pill for about 5 yrs, since before my 4yr old son was born, was ttc baby no.2 for over 3 yrs.

Just wanted peoples opinions and experiences of it! xx

Yep had it in about 2 months ago. I can't have hormonal contraception as it would turn me into a monster! Having it fitted was no worse than a smear and have had no problems since xx

I had it before and after my lo, it has been fantastic both times! I would highly recommend. The only problem I had with my first one was it got 'lost' so had to have an operation to have it removed, but that was only because I was never told about checking the strings x

This is my plan! X

mummy to ds 11/7/11
pregnant *team pink* due 12/9/13

I had it fitted and I hated it! Made me down, tearful, angry and tired. I bled every for every single day it was in which was 5 months apart from 3 days. Couldn't wait to get it out xx

oh goodness that doesnt sound good, could you not have it removed before t
he 5 months? x

I asked several times and they just kept saying leave it a bit longer to settle. But it never did. My nurse also had it fitted herself and she says she bled constantly for 6 months xx

I had mine put in last week, wasnt the most pleasant experience but have been fine since! There is a copper coil or a hormonal one...I'm guessing Tia's was the hormonal one as u shouldn't have third problems with a copper one. And it lasts 10 years! Xxx

I have a coil fitted. It's a copper one as I don't like how hormones affect me.

It has made my periods heavier slightly but other than that its great.

I ruled out the coil because I hear it can fall out and you not know or get lost. So decided against it personally I think it otherwise would have been perfect for me. If there are strings that hang out is that a bit Wierd? Is it like a tampon string? Sorry just hadn't heard about the strings, I got the mini pill and already I'm not happy. Am bleeding v heavy its only day 7 of taking it :s x

I have the Mirena Coil and its been great.

My periods have practically stopped. Have the odd few days of spotting here and there but generally nothing more needed than a panty liner.

It was uncomfortable to have it put in but bearable.

The strings do not hang out of the body. You have to put your fingers inside you to feel them.
