god i SUCK at it i often cant get any wind up and often she'll cry if i lie her down but quiet when i hold her upright and when i lie her down theres always a little wet patch beneath her head and sick on her cheek and collar

GRR why am i so rubbish

have you thought of trying a bit of infacol or gripe water to help with her wind?

My Lo hates gripe water but loves infacol, i put a but of infacol on his dummy he loves it. Both are cheaper at home bargains.

I sit thomas up on my knee and rest my hand on his tummy, the slight pressure seems to help bring it up, as she is still small put your thumb and index finger against her chin to hold her head up and rub her back and then pat changing it now and again, I find this helps, or else you could lie her across your knees on her tummy as again the pressure may help. I tried infacol with the dude but he didn't get on that well with it. He now does enormous burps it is great (although not in restaurants!!)

I used to find if i held Soph on my knee in a sitting position and gently bounce her up and down, used to work a treat, now she belches like a grown man all on her own!

As above, or hold her in the sitting position on your knee, then with one hand at the top of her chest, and the other at the top of her back, rotate her on her hips (so her bum stays still but her body goes round from tilted back a bit, to side to leaning forward a bit to the other side) I do this about 5 times if L has stubborn wind, and if that doesn't bring a burp I get one on the next back rub.

I find that if I lay Isaac down flat and gently play with him a while, any wind or sick thats there usually comes up then, or just after picking him up from being laid down. I go on the thinking that bubbles rise so I let them all gather gently while hes laid then as he sits up they all pop out gently too hehe

Or, change them into something clean, that usually brings something up

I Usually either sit even up on my lap and hold his chin or put him over my shoulder. My health visitor suggested we use Infacol for his wind as he is a bit colicy. Its great stuff, id give it a try and see how you go.

Dont feel bad about not being able to get wind up, i find everyone else is much better at getting it out of him than me. Sometimes i feel like im there forever.
