any tips for hot days?

It's 30 degrees today. How do we coop in the heat with the little ones? Noa had barely no clothes today, we keept in the shade n his back was wet from sweat! He's not eating, not drinking his milk..

Aiden not doing too bad! But I can imagine! I've done some ice Lollies for him to suck! Sit in front of a fan inside! Shade outside in paddling pool with cool water! Just some ideas u ptob already thought of! Will he have juice? At least thSt way he's getting fluids x

Plus I know this is expensive and a bit silly but my LO was thSt tired (is cuddled for naps) he just wouldn't go off so been in car for a drive with both windows down and wind blowing him! He was cool and relaxed...

He drinks water, I don't have a garden we go to the park so pool is not an option I'm just worried espesially about the food/milk sitauation

could you try giving him some cold milk? he might like it cooler today? don't really know what else to suggest hun. It's not been as hot here today (south wales) and cooler now again as we've had rain already. xx

Yeah I've tried all dif temp on the milk.. and I don't drive.. he drinks water so I give that.

marleys excatly the same. we're on the 9th floor with windows on all sides & have the sun beaming in all day! hes napped for 15 mins, but was so hot & sweaty. now hes crying and moaning as hes tired but cant sleep. im keeping my eye on this thread as i need advice too. we're going away in a few weeks and the mil has said its already 36degrees there! so far he's had 1 yoghurt and 6oz milk and a few spoons of food. he isnt drinking much water either. eeek.

I'm not offering much food, I try formula more as its both "food" and water. Noa have had about 7 oz milk and 7oz water n a little square bread

Maisie has only had 2 breast feeds today and some sweet potato and avacado. She's taken 2 oz of water but just cant settle we're inside with a fan on but nothings working bless her

When Aiden was poorly being sick doc said as long as they are still having wet nappies they are ok and Aiden wasn't keeping anything down for about 5 days! But they said as long as he gets "some fluids" Dont stop u worrying tho I know! Oh and what about paddling pool in house ha xx

Isla has fed nearly every hour, and eaten all her food, lil piggy. I too offer her ice lollies homemade from watered down baby juice, also cold pasta, she really enjoyed chomping on it.

Wow, I really wish Layla would drink more water. She too has only managed about 1oz - this is the norm for her... she just doesn't seem to want to drink it . Really think I'm going to have to give in and buy her some juice! She is still having bettwen 20-22oz of milk a day though (2oz of which is with her porridge) But you do really worry on hot days. She seems happy enough so I guess that is the main thing! xx

Emma - how do you make the ice lollies? Are there special "baby-sized" ice lolly kits you can buy? xx

I've had charley in just a nappy or vest the last couple of days. He won't keep his bloody sun hat on though grrr!
He's drank so much water, I didn't even think he liked water but he's had loads!!
He's not really suffered with the heat though luckily x x

Sarah - just bought kits from wilko or b&m bargains, and half and half water/juice. Isla never drinks a whole bottle of juice, especially the heinz ones so it goes to waste

I've just used the normal lolly moulds from any supermarket and made his juice up like normal in there! X

Also I identify with the water I tried for weeks and weeks to get Aiden to have water and u bet he didn't even do an oz! So I gave in and gave him juice only a drop and he loves he'd drink the while lot if I didn't take it away! He even wants to do it himself now! I too didn't want to waste it so I bought the cow and gate summer fruits concentrated bottle to mix with own cooled boiled water and that one lasts 21 days in fridge x
