Just want to know if they are any good really?

Our washing machine is on it's last legs and we have a condencer dryer in the garage which I HATE!

Would ideally prefer a combined washer/dryer but I have heard mixed reviews on them

 ive got one and never had any problems with it, tho i dont put it on a full cycle of wash then dry, i wash it and then move the clothes in it around a bit coz they tend to get stuck to the side, and then put it on dry

same.. ive had no problems with mine.. i had mine 2nd hand to.. its about 3 years old.. definatly go for one that you can adjust the temperature of the wash and dry on though.. mines just standard 40-60 or 90 degree washes.. and standard dry temp..

We have one but it was second hand off my brother! We don't often use the dryer bit on it, and don't find it drys as well as a tumble dryer, but then that could just be coz my brother knackered it out!

Thank you ladies, looking on all the websites now.

Are your ones condencer dryers or are they vented outside?

my mums got a combined one and hates it! she doesn't use the tumble dry function... she has a tumble dryer in her garage she uses instead.

yes we have one but dont think its very good. we rarely use the dryer, it takes ages to dry a couple of items let alone a full load.

I've heard they aren't very good, my OH used to have one in his bachelor days lol, he says they're unreliable, expensive to fix if they break down and basically in his words if they break down you're fu*ked lol but everyone has mixed views and i'm pretty sure it all depends on what make you get. A condenser one would be best though for practicality.

Oh and to add they use alot of electricity!!

I have one, it's awesome and I'm so grateful we have one! I use the washer function first, then take out the odd few bits that can't be dried, then use the dryer.

We have one but to be honest the dryer is crap! It takes ages if you put more than a few items in it and it uses loads of electric to work it too.

I used to have one and gave up on the tumble dryer side of it as it was useless. Took ages to dry things as its washing machine sized, not larger like a proper dryer, so you had to do less drying wise also.

Expensive on the 'leccy also.

Plus when one part be it washer or dryer went wrong, the whole machine was borked. Expensive to fix.

I'd always go for separate machines now. Won't touch the 2 in 1 machines again.

we have one but i hate the dryer on it it jst takes so long to dry clothes a normal tumble dryer does it so much quicker dont think i would buy another one

I love mine!! I usually do a wash and then take out the bulky items like towels, clothes and put them on the radiators to dry and leave bibs, socks, underwear in the machine to be dried. works brilliantly for me

I have a condenser 2 in 1. Had it for about 7 years and it has only had two minor problems in that time (the dial needed refixing and the door hinge came off and needed replacing - both minor repairs that cost about £10 each)
I love mine (I have a very small kitchen and house.) I have two heat settings for the tumble drier, but I tend to take out big items to dry on the line or airer and I tumble things like underwear and towels - so maybe use it 2 times a week presently. I am sure I will tumble baby grows too.

As Sherlock says it is expensive on the electric and it isn't the most environmentally friendly of machines, however, I think you can get better makes now that are more 'green'.

Thanks everyone. I only really use my dryer at the moment for towels and underwear, everything else goes on the line.... but I have to have soft fluffy towels!!

I think we may invest in one... kill two bird with one stone! :D

Mine was rubbish. You cant dry a full load of washing in them. You have to take half out or the stuff never drys.

Mine drives me mad, just waiting til me move to get seperates cos it takes AGES to dry anything... A load of towels will take a good 2-3hrs its madness! I wouldnt get one again to be honest.
