On how many of each of these are needed in the first 3 months???

Sleep suits
bibs
baby vests

my friend said her little boy went thru loaads as they need changing alot due to sick and leaky nappies xx

Sleepsuits - I would get a few (not many) in newborn/0-1 month size as you don't know how big your LO will be. Chances they'll either be too big or too small! When my daughter was a bit bigger we had 6 sleepsuits in 0-3 months which was enough as we were washing all the time anyway.

Baby vests - I would have a few each of sleeveless/short sleeve and long sleeve depending on how warm the room is where bubs will sleep. Sizing as above.

Bibs are down to personal choice. If you're breastfeeding you may not need any but again that's up to you. I found muslins more helpful for sickyness than bibs.

ditto what daftscotslass said........most of the time I have Riley in a sleepsuit now as it's colder. He was 8lb1oz and only fitted in newb stuff for a couple o weeks!!

he has wee outfits, but we only put them on him if we are going somewhere :D

I didn't use bibs at all in the first 3 months, just muslins. I guess the other items really depend on how often you expect to do your washing. I would allow for 3 changes a day on average, maybe only 2 if not too sicky but up to 4 or 5 if you have a leaky baby! So if you wash a couple of times a week then prob about 8 or 9 vests, long and short sleeved, just to be on the safe side.

I liked to put my kids in outfits so they had quite a few of these that they wore during the day, then sleepsuits at night. I had prob about 5 or 6 sleepsuits. A lot of people prefer the baby to just wear sleepsuits for the first few weeks as they do spend most of the time sleeping, so if you do this you may need a few more.

Don't forget you will prob get lots of presents too so maybe hold off getting too much initially. Also, I don't know if you are team green or not. We didn't find out the sex for babies number 1 and 2 and I found once they were born I didn't want them to wear anything white cos I wanted everyone to see she they were girls. So some stuff that I bought barely got touched.

Sleepsuits and vests are a must!! You will get through hundreds!! I would say more in the first two months not so much in the third. I didnt tend to use bibs to begin with, just loads of muslins or tea towels. I started using bibs more when he was wearing nice clothes so they didnt get dribble and puke on them!!

ok well ill see what i get at the baby shower, then after ill prob buy a few more to be safe. in the first few weeks i doubt il be wanting to do much washing lol. xx

I had a very leaky baby so through out a fair few vests and sleepsuits. Also i had no tumble dryer so struggled with getting things dry. Although Angel was 8lb 3oz she was in 7.5lb clothes for a month.
You'll find people will buy outfits rather than sleepsuits and vests.
Also if you do have a leaky baby try and keep a spare set in your changing bag. I have no end of times had to change her while out!

I only dress Connie in sleepsuits. I got some nice ones from Next for daytime wear (about 8) and some for sleeping (about 6). Connie isn't a pukey baby so I rarely have to change her during the day and tend to only do a baby washing load twice a week as her clothes are small and don't fill the washing machine.

Esme is soo pukey she is in bibs all the time and i keep muslin handy to mop up everywhere. My DS never neededbibs and I had packs unopened, maybe wait and see what your Lo is like and buy more.

TBH I wish I had saved money and got bare essentials whilst pregnant then brought stuff after she was born as I find some of the outfits I have brought dont suit her and I am so tempted every time we go out to buy stuff now I have her :wall:

Depends who you ask tbh :) We skipped the whole newborn size as we had a big baby. Went straight into 0-3 size. Always worth getting at least a couple of sleepsuits and vests in newborn though. But don't go mad. You can always get extra if you need them.

For us we had in 0-3

6 sleepsuits
8 short sleeved bodysuits (vests with lil short sleeves basically)
Bibs - none. Didn't use them at all the first 3 months. LO is breastfed and so no need. We used muslin squares and I'd always say these are worthwhile as they have so many uses.

FWIW we didn't dress our LO in actual clothes really in the first two months. Lived in sleepsuits and we were fine with 6. Never ran out. Same with vests. Mind you I'm not one of those who insists on a clean sleepsuit every night if the one used the night before was still clean. I washed them every day the first week or so then started to go to every 2 days or so. Ones worn in the daytime usually needed washing by the end of the day.

I'd only get a few newborn and 0-3 months sleepsuits and vest till you have the baby. I was the opposite of Sherlick and had a small baby who was in tiny baby suits and vests for over a month, then went into newborn and finlay 0-3 month stuff (he was 4 months by then )

Bibs - I got loads and never used any of them until we started drooling all the time  I prefer to use muslins - mop up more mess ;)
