Any gardeners out there?

I have a small town house garden which gets really hot in the summer. Last year I had fushias and clematis planted out which frazzled and died.

Which plants are able to withstand heat? I have a patio rose that does well, and some bamboo. Any ideas?

The plants I had the best success last year was with the pansies. I did have some fatalities too when the sun came as well

I'm awful with plants ...now that we've finally got a nice garden I'm going to start planting a few nice things over the next few months though so I'll let you know if I manage to keep anything alive
