We had the back bedroom re plastered a couple of weeks back and have been working on it since last friday, well they told us to wall paper paste the walls before painting, we did that and now the fooking paint is coming off so we have to strip it again

 I hate decorating (spelling) but just keep thinking of how it will look when you have finished.

We got our house plastered and had to wait 6 weeks before we painted it so that it was dried out properly :?

:x How annoying!

My dads a plasterer and he told me to do a coat of watered down emulsion before painting

thats bang on what my DH has just said you should do when you paint, & hes a builder/decorater.
he said hes never waited 6 wks to paint over new plaster.

wall paper paste doesn't sound right :( I would have just put emulsion maybe on it before a proper paint. Maybe ideally wait, but I'm impatient  .

Hope it works properly for you next time

My dad (also a plasterer) always says cheap emulsion or watered down PVA glue before decorating :D

Seany thinks they were con merchants looking to come back and fix it :x

I'm still reeling from it this morning, really wanted to get paris in that room and start decorating the babies room :(

yeah, my dad's a plasterer and he said to do 2 coats of paint on our newly plastered walls. The first coat should be 10% water and the second coat just as it comes out of the tub.

K.xx

Maybe you could say to the workmen that it didn't work, and they will give you a bit of money off or something? No harm in trying
