The last few feeds my LO (5 weeks) seems to be getting really frustrated - flailing her arms and legs about, grunting and pulling her head back (with my nipple still in her mouth!) why could this be? I'm worried she's not getting enough or that something else is seriously wrong, would appreciate any advice x

Could it be wind? My LO does this when he needs to burp!

Yeah b does this and I try and burp him

Thank you so much ladies, just doing my morning feed and she started doing this so sat her up and the biggest burp I have ever heard came out and she has happily gone back on xx

AAnd i bet you had a lil giggle too :) I always do LOL I'm so childish :)

My LO does this too, I also thought it may have something to do with my supply not being enough for her. Next time she does it I will try and wind her - thanks for the advice!

my wee mans started doing this the last 2 weeks. but its not been wind. he wants to eat in the morning and at night but anytime between about 10am and 6pm is a struggle to get him to take anything. today i decided (after seeing him watch me eat many times) that maybe he was after something more. he had his first bit of baby rice today and he loved it and has just went for a sleep. hes only 2 and a half months. but hes a big baby and is quite advanced in alot of areas for his age. but it definitely seems to have satisfied him. x

id say that at that time of night its almost certainly some type of wind or colic pain and the food may settle him but might hurt more in the long run as at not even 3 months old babies arent ready for solids. 17 weeks is the minimum, anything before that can lead to all kinds of stomach or digestive problems and allergies/intolerances.

I'd agree with Bev that it's wind or colic pain. This is exactly what Alyssa does when she's not had her gaviscon. It's horrible seeing them get so frustrated but sometimes even massive burps don't stop their little tummies hurting xx
