Has anyone heard of this? Google would suggest that it can be quite common in pregnancy, but I've never heard of it and my midwife didn't suggest it when I told her of my symptoms. I'm seriously embareseed right now about the state of my foof, and I'm trying to get through to the sexual health clinic to book an appointment. It's so uncomfortable at the moment that I've started to consider another Caesarian.

I'd never even heard of this so had to Google. It sounds fairly common.

What did your midwife say when you described your symptoms? Hopefully the SH clinic will be able to actually take a look and confirm. Is there any treatment for it if it turns out to be this? x

I hadn't researched it myself at that point and just told the midwife I had black spots. She seemed concerned and gave me the number for SH. I've managed to get an appointment for this afternoon. With only 4 weeks until due date I'm concerned about delivery prospects as everything seems to suggest you just leave them alone? I'm already feeling sore and can't imagine what the trauma of giving birth will do to it.

Sorry to hear that hun, doesn't sound nice at all :(

I hope they can give you some answers at SH clinic and fingers crossed there is something they can do to relieve the symptoms x

Good news and bad news.

It's nothing untoward, nothing I've caught and basically just blood blisters on my foof- wonderful!

Only problem is they can't do anything for me and have suggested I go back to my midwife for her to take a look. I'm really worried about giving birth now as just having them looked at made me squeak. What on earth is it going to be like when I'm trying to push a baby out?

Hopefully theyd whack some general anaesthetic into the area to numb it x

Ouchie! As Mrs S said, I would hope they can at least give you some kind of anesthetic or something to numb them. You don't need any extra pain during labour!

It doesn't look like it will be a problem now, I've been admitted to hospital as baby is transverse! I should get a date for a section soon.

I had an emergency section last time, so I know roughly what to expect. I was hoping for a VBAC though. I've never experienced giving birth really.

I had an emergency with my first and wanted a VBAC with my second too. I went to 42 weeks and didn't want to risk induction so opted for a scheduled section. It was sooooo much better than the emergency one, a really positive experience.

My consultant said I could still try for a VBAC with this one if I wanted, but with this being a child for my sister, I didn't want the first child that I pushed out to be one that wasn't mine, if you know what I mean xxx
