Ok girlies, here's one for you. REALLY want to get an Angelsounds doppler but wondering whether to order one next week after we get paid (will be 10 weeks then) or to wait til after our scan at 12 weeks?

All opinions gratefully received!

I've voted to wait until after the scan.
Purely for selfish reasons, as i have to wait lol
xx

we keep talking about it, cos i'd really love one, but i would so freak if i couldn't find it haha.
didn't a lot of the girls hear the heartbeat from 9/10ish weeks?
i'll compramise, you can order it cos its payday, but try to not use it for awhile lol
xx

I got mine at 9 weeks, recieved it 9+3 or 4 and heard the heartbeat, there is a thread here inthis section with the recording :cheer:

I voted get it now lol  but its upto you

I had lent mine to a family member so didn't get it back until I was 11 weeks. it was a week before my first scan. I was a bit in denial about being pregnant so was nice to hear the heartbeat and to know I was definatly was pregnant before my scan. I voted get it now but its up2 u hun xxxx

I had one bought for me on my bday and i was 9 weeks and 2 days. A few days later I found the heartbeat.

Its personal opinion. If you know you wont freak if you cant find it then go for it as its sooooo AMAZING if you do find it early.

However if you think you'll get upset etc then best to leave it

I love my angel sounds and dont care what anyone says... they're so worth it!

Easy as anythin to use and everyone raves about em

xx

Thanks MummyRich - I don't think I would freak out although I can't be sure!

well let me know how you get on.

I still use mine now and i can feel baby all the time.

Great reassurance when you're having one of those days!!xx

I voted wait untill after the scan, just because in my last pregnancy at 10 weeks the midwife could not find the heart beat with her doppler, she assured me everything was most likely fine and it was cause my uterus was still sat very snuggly in my pelvis but it made me and OH worry ourselvs silly :(.

I voted now now now! I got one just after Tasha and heard the heartbeat around 10 wks. I only got one because of suffering a previous m/c I'd convinced myself it was a blighted ovum. It took a while to find but once I did it was lovely.

I don't use it much now as once you hear a heartbeat your chances of m/c drop so I was happy that a) there was a baby in there! and b) my chances of m/c had dropped a bit more.

If you think you're going to freak out if you can't find it then definitely don't get one. I started with the thought there was no baby anyway so wasn't too worried when I couldn't find anything. Wierd I know! It was very comforting and amazing once I did find it though.

At our group booking in appt with the midwives they told us not to buy these in particular as they were dangerous! Could just be scaremongering though as they didnt really give much detail

I just ordered one so get one, go on you know you want to :rotfl:

I got mine at 9 weeks and couldnt find the heart beat myself but my OH found it everytime lol!!

I love my doppler and defoo say NOW NOW NOW lol.

Just as long as you always know in the back of your mind you might not find it :) xx

I would wait until after 12 weeks. I had my dating scan at 9+4, and was tempted to get one straight away, but as I was aware that there was still an increased chance of miscarriage until I hit tri 2, I didn't want to find the heartbeat until I was out of that 'danger zone' if that makes sense. I got mine at 13 weeks, and couldn't find anything the first few attempts. I wasn't overly concerned as I'd prepared myself for that possibility, but it still niggled away at the back of my mind. The more I tried, the more concerned I got, so I put it away for a couple of weeks. Tried at 15 weeks, and found it straight away, which was a big relief, not to mention amazing!

FWIW, I think I'd been listening in the wrong place anyway, and if you reeeeaallly want one now, then go for it. I just know from experience that if you can't find it, it *does* make you worry, even when you know it doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem - and why put yourself through that unnecessarily?
