I have an appointment in the morning ... well later on 9-30 am.
and its for an anesthetic review. i asked my m/w about it and she cant see why as I havent had any previous pregnancies and I havent had a bad reaction to anesthesia (to my knowledge).
has any mums had an appointment for this and can anyone advise me why i may have one???

I had one as I am overweight and have asthma.
They needed to discuss the fact that if you are overwight may need an epidural sooner as it takes more time for the anaethsatist(sp?) to find the correct space in the spine for the catheter to go into and this needs to be done in between contractions so it's better to do when the contractions are further apart.
Also they needed to discuss how general anasthetics affect asthmatics, but I'd already had one for a deviated septum so it was ok.
Hope that helps. xx

I had a review too - because I was overweight and had palpitations. I was told to ask for an epidural early too. (I did and it was great!)
