Also... Low Placenta?

In the majority of pregnancies, the placenta forms in the top half of the womb. In some cases, however, it forms in the lower half, so that it lies partly or completely over the cervix, blocking the baby's way out of the womb. This is known as a low-lying placenta (or placenta praevia).

The likelihood is that as your womb gets bigger, the placenta will move up and will no longer cover the cervix. Your likely to be offered another scan later on (usually around 32-34 weeks) to check that it has moved.

If it doesn't move, the only way that your baby can be born is by Caesarean. This will usually be carried out at around 38 weeks I think.

So really its nothing to be worried about, im sure it will move by the time you get rescanned later in your pregnancy.

Ahhh i'm terrified of having a caesarean :x
arrgh :(

Yeah me too! I sing to them and I cradle them and dry them when they are wet

glad its not just me :D haha

i dont let my kittens out, coz my lil wosie woo got run over, too scared of it happening again, anyone wudda thought someone in my family was on deaths door, i was in hysterics when i got the call to say she'd been run over haha

I am cat crazy too! I have Spiders and Woolly, Spiders in BIG (the vet thought he was a farm cat) and he is black and white, like the felix cat. Woolly is his brother from a different litter, he is the most adorable grey and white colour. I will try post a pic of them later. We got them as kittens, wolly when he was 3 months old and spiders was only 6 weeks, bless him.I talk to them all the time.Woolly sits on my bump, but spiders is too big and thick to realise anything is different.
I keep telling them I will be on caternity leave to spend more time with them when baby comes along. I am sure even they think I am mad.

It was the same when we lost Tilly a few weeks back, I was gutted and cried for days. I felt like id lost a member of the family :(

luckily woo pulled thru for me..

i cant imagine what it wud be like for one of my babies to die. death is inevitable, but i dont like to think about it...

Haha this topic was supposed 2 be about low placentas haha but we turned it into the cat topic hahaha
Its because I always meant to show you a pic of Raegan but I never had the chance untill now ha, I would almost think that was Raegan if i saw Poppy in the street haha

Soz, no cats (just a spoilt rotten doggie) but I was told my placenta was lying low @ 20 week scan....my consultant didnt seem too bothered, said she was sure it would move up as pregnancy progressed an there was no need to be rescanned...

I am not too worried. Have looked it up on internet, its fairly common, and may mean a c-section if it doesnt move out of way. As long as babes arrives safely, I dont mind...

Try not to worryxx
