Well today we started painting the nursery and buying some bedding etc. Loving ebay and starting to get addicted i think. It's as if it's all finally starting to hit home that we will have a little one with us in just over 4 months

How is everyone else's preparations coming along?

Well done! We only sorted the nursery out 2 weeks ago! Left it very late lol!! It's so exciting doing it though!! :D

It is, we have started early but i wanted to help while i still can lol. Not long to go for you now!

ebay is brill isnt it!! i know what u mean can be very addictive lol!we not started on nursery yet as we only have 2 bedrooms and 2 step sons who also visitso eldest (16 and very rarely comes now) will sleep on thenew sofa bed we got him when he eventually comes to stay and youngest (10) willprob have to share (is really big room so going to partition off) hubbie not happy with that but when they only visitonce in a blue moon what else can you do? when i was growing up i had to share with 5 others when my parents split up so wont be too bad..i hope !!!xx

Its very exciting! i have also grown a very bad addiction to ebay . . . but i must say ive got LOADS to show for my money which is always great!!

I share a house with my mother and brother, and we live in a 3 bedroom so me, OH and baby are all sharing my room! to be honest it is big enough for now, just wont be in a years time. so decorating my living room is the next step (we have our own living room as mum had a nice extention put on the back of the house so have a spare front room which i have adopted) i just want to change it a little bit. so that is all my preparation so far! got everything i need down to the bath thermometer, so its just a case of putting everything together! cant wait to get cot up and all that stuff, makes it so real and gets me really excited! going pram shopping tomorrow too, thats all i need to get! xx

Rainbow - Totally agree you basically have to work with what you've got. Lexi, that's good you have your own space and you sound totally organised! I still have a pram to get too, gonna go for a travel system but there are a few i like. Trying to shop around for the best deal. Just trying to get a bit each month to spread the cost a little. Once we get xmas out the way the countdown will be on. Soo exciting.

Citygirl - I love Ebay, but a few years ago brought lots on there, (did sell too tho to make up for it!) now I try not to go on too much or I might get carried away! Most things really are much cheeper tho so worth it for what we are all doing with babies etc.

I'm starting to panic a little to be honest! I have a house full of stuff my sister gave me, I have only really brought nappies and cottonwool and wipes, firt babygrows, and some stuff from the carboot, and breastpads etc so that's all sorted, but it's storeed in my boys room, right in the middle of the play space in some old drawers! then I have a moses basket now in my room, a pushchair my sister gave me (her old one) in the lounge!! And then theres the DIY Progress! ermmm Well I now have a toilet that works - spent a day wandering about yesterday using any loo I could find with the kids as the water was off so hubby and a very handy freinds hubby, did the toilet - it's yum now! I need to paper, paint, put down lino , tile the boxed in bit, but the potenrial is there now!

He is back to do the bathroom today! (camping out at the kids club cinema film for loos! and town for the day as water back off soon) - oooh god I would love a soak with taps that work!

And then Nursery wise - if I can pay and organise the electric meter move, dig a trench in floor for moving gas pipe, then get gas man and electrician to move fuse box and connection to new outsde meter , this handy freind has offered to cut a doorway, build a doorframe, (small door), and block in wall in kitchen, we may have a downstairs ulitity changed into a bedrrom for Devon - bit panicy that I can do it before he is here now -arghhh

Then I woke up this week and thought, oh god there is no radiator in there, Devon will freeze - ahh how does that all work!

Sorry to rant - I leave work in 4 weeks, which is so I can DIY the whole house !!
