I have two older boys and never gave them a dummy.

My 4 week old baby girl is wanting fed every hour and tends to just sook the teat instead of drinking the milk.

Can anyone give me their opinions on them. I’m not sure when to give her it etc. I’m clueless with them lol.

My eldest had a dummy. From 36h until he was 3 and half. Had it for sleep and illness only from about 1y +

Perfect teeth and speech.

Second baby wouldn't entertain one.

Are you breastfeeding? I think you need to establish feeding first. My breastfed one was the baby uninterested in the dummy, so I'm not sure of proper advice.

I have absolutely no issue with them and they are actually proven to reduce risk of SIDS.

My little girl was poorly at first when she was born. Really unsettled etc. She was hospitalised as well for a period at 6 weeks old. I was instructed by the medics to give her a dummy. I can honestly say it helped a fair bit.

It provided a lot of comfort when she was small. We don’t have issues with teeth/speech and I took it away when she was 2.5years old. It was mainly for naps after age 1 anyway.

I think the cherry teat ones where the easiest for her to get the hang of at first.

My eldest had a dummy in his first week and used it until about two, we primarily started as he was really sick and a tummy sleeper, it seemed to help! His younger brother was encouraged to use a dummy for the one night he spent in special care whilst still trying to establish breastfeeding. He never entertained it though and never used one beyond 3 months as he just didn't get any benefit from one.
I'll have no problem in offering this baby a dummy if I think it will be of benefit to her. Neither of my sons had any issues with speech or teeth development.

jumping tri's here, I really didn't want to give DD a dummy but she had colic and was super unsettled so oh pestered me to give her one. I did at 4 weeks and it really helped. she's 2.5 now and still has it for nighttime only. struggling to get rid but her teeth are fine and speech is amazing

My daughter had one as I was told it helped with colic, Thanlfully it did.We only used it for bedtime and We sent it off to Santa last Christmas when she was 3. Teeth and speech both fine x
