Just a quick one ladies. I just bathed Jack and because he hates baths so much he was thrashing around all over the place (as usual). I had my hand behind his head but he lurched himself backwards with such force that he bumped his head on the back of the bath. It wasn't particularly hard and he didn't seem shocked by it (think i was more shocked) but i'm still a bit worried.

It's only a plastic baby bath and there are no lumps/cuts etc on his head. He seems fine within himself but i'm just very wary of bumps to the head. I don't think it warrants a trip to a&e but would it be worth ringing somewhere tomorrow for advice? I have my 6 week check up at the doctors on Thurs so do you think it could wait until then? Parenting has to be the most worrying job in the world x

If he seems fine, isn't crying, is feeding ok, not being sick and is alert then I'm sure he's fine tbh. It's worrying though isn't it

I know exactly how you feel Hun! I think their heads are a bit stronger than we think! Ella has always been a head thrower and I've lost count of the number of times she head butted me when she was tiny!

I think it'll be fine hun xx

If he seems normal in himself and no visible bump I'd say no need to get it checked, but mention it at his checkup if you want to xxx

Albert throws himself around hun, he frightened himself the other day and screamed the house down with shock so am sure you would have known if he had hurt himself. As long as he's as normal as little boys are ever going to get lol I wouldn't worry.

Mention it though, your gp might have some tips on stopping him doing it in the future xxxxxxx

Angels done this but on our normal bath once or twice and I've got her changing unit against the wall and she sat up the other day and thrashed herself and went to the side and bumped her head on the wall, she didn't even cry. She fed fine, no bump was there and she was bright and alert so I haven't mentioned anything, I've got the HV tomorrow anyway but she's a bit older x
