Hi.....i currently rec 175.00 evry 2 weeks in mat allowance and my partner is on esa. Any way thy have stopped his esa dwn to 6.89 pwk!!! We r struggling big time. I.am still.waiting dor tx ceeds to strt. My partner is on esa due to.being attacked and had his ear bitten off causing nerve damage to his ear,face and neck. Also due to this he got azddicted to pain elief and is now under a councillor for mental health and drug councilling. He is being treated like hes a bum and lay aboout as there now relling him he gas to go bk to wrk. Hes not in righht frame of mind to.wrk.he lost al.confidence and suffers panic attacks. This baby has given himthe boost to turn his life arnd but its not as easy as tht. We genuinly need help. We
have both wrked from leaving school and he is.a qualiffied electrical engineer. We have to pay 45.00 a wk in rent .were in dire straights and im at my wits end x
 
Hi Amy lou , its a worry isnt it. I dont know why theyve reduced his ESA unless its a means tested thing and theyve taken your maternity payment as an income.

Have you applied for council tax and housing benefit? I would call the benefits helpline 08456088524 or go and talk to them at citizens advice beureu.

It would be if you are on the income related side if it I'm afraid. Your only option is apply for housing benefit & council tax benefit if you don't already get them.
Have they told him he's not entitled to ESA anymore because they class him as fit for work? You can appeal the decision, won't make any difference to the money but he will stay on ESA until the appeal is sorted
