Hiya, can anyone give me any advice about these opk's. The one on the left is from CD 12 which was on Sunday. Do you think this is my postive? My cycles are usually 32/34 days long so wasn't expecting to ovulate until the end of the week which is why I only started testing on Sunday. I have done another 2 opk's today which aren't in the picture but they have been getting progressively lighter.

is the colour of the test line exactly as it was on sunday or has everything faded a bit? Just asking as the bottom of the control line is darkers than the middle and the top? CD 12 of a 32-34 day cycle to ovulate is early but not unheard of. However if the test looked on sunday as it does now I would say that it isnt a posotive opk and that you should keep testing. Have you used these cheapies for long? Bear in mind some ladies me included have no luck with these cheapies and have had completely negative results only to go on and test with a FR OPK or a CB digi and get a positive on them.

Thanks for replying. I think the test has faded a bit since Sunday. To be honest when I did it I my initial reaction was that it wasn't a positive but it was very close. I really expected to have a stronger line on Monday or Tuesday. It was just when the lines started to go fainter that I thought it maybe it could have been my surge.

This is just my second cycle using these tests. Last month didn't work out too well, I ended up having a much longer cycle than usual so had stopped using OPK's when I think I ovulated. Not going to do that again so I'm going to carry on testing. It's so frustrating as AF had been really regular up until 2 or 3 months ago!

I have also bought some clear blue digi OPK's. Didn't use them on Sunday but have used them every day since and still havn't had a smiley face. Only have a few left so think I am going to carry on with the cheapies and use a digi to confirm if I get any dark lines.

I don't think it is positive just yet hun, nearly. The line will look just like the control when it's positive hunnie xx

yes I think that you havent had your surge yet hun, keep testing, what time of day are you testing? i usually find that mid afternoon is best and do it at least an hour or so since you had a drink too x

I've been testing a few times each day, just because I have noticed that the strength of the line can really vary. Does anyone use the CB digi's? I just looked at the leaflet and it says that it doesn't matter what time of day you test so long as it's the same time each day. I thought LH built up in your system throughout the day so it was best to do them in the afternoon. Are the digi's different?

Just did tonights OPK and there is no second line at all.........these are so frustrating!

it says any time of day but im sure mid to late afternoon is the best - google it to check.

opks can be tricky with tryin to be consistent. i always make sure - TMI - my pee is off the same colour so i know its roughly the same strength haha ewwwwww!!!

I would try and get into a good routine with the opks. try testing after work/dinner time. have your last tea/coffee/juice about 2-3pm depending on how strong your bladder is and hold it till as long as you can - i can onyl make it till about 6pm as i drink so much water at work! if you do this you will notice pee will generally be the "same" so will be consistent in terms of testing. good luck.

Thanks hun, I also normally check the colour of my pee before testing (yuk!) and don't bother if it looks too diluted.

I am still getting either no lines or very faint lines with the cheapies and have confirmed them as negative with a digi.

I just don't understand how I can get a line so close to being positive on the first day I test this cycle then nothing! I was wondering if I had tested the day before my first test (last Sat) if I would have got a postive then. Would that explain getting an almost positive then only very faint lines?

i had the same with one of my opk's on cd 14 am hun think it may have been bit darker than your cd 12 one but by time i looked at it again at 5pm it had gone fainter, very confusing and my cd14 pm opk was a lot fainter too!!

If those were mine and the strongest one was the first one I would assume that i had the surge the day before.
Good luck

Babyg it's so frustrating isn't it! Im thinking that I won't order anymore OPK's after this month and just try to BD lots mid cycle around the time that I think I might ovulate, the OPK's just get me stressed that I'm not ovulating.

Daisy, I'm really starting to think that my surge must have occured just before I took the first test. We BD'd on the Sun that I got the darkest OPK line and the day after so just need to keep my fingers crossed. Gonna carry on doing the OPK's and BDing every 2-3 days (unless I get a positive OPK in which case it will be more!) until AF arrives!

how long have you been ttc cherry? if its been a while you could ask for a day21 day blood test to confirm ovulation??

This is only our 2nd cycle so I shouldn't really complain. I can cope with the fact that it might take me a while to fall pregnant, its the fact that I really don't have a clue when I am ovulating that bothers me. I think the OPK's are causing more problems than they are solving. I am still getting only very faint lines so I'm starting to think I must of ovulated really early this month.

ye very frustrating, i might invest in some clear blue one with the smiley face for next cycle, will await the rests from my 21 day bloods first, maybe you could book in for yours too hun, you coudl always fib to the doc saying you been ttc for longer, wrong i know but if its stressing you out thats no good is it, plus you pay your contributions so are entitled to it i think anyway hun xxx

Can't really fib as I have a 9 month old........theres only so long I could actually have been trying for no. 2 for! I think I will wait to after christmas and if my cycles are still erratic and I still havn't had an obviously positive OPK I will go and see if they will do bloods. My periods returned just 6 weeks after I had DD despite the fact I was breastfeeding and were really regular until a few months ago which makes me think that something is wrong. Did the Dr suggest you get 21 day bloods or did you ask for them? Good luck for the results! x

i requested them hun, its been on my mind a lot, once i know whether im ov i think it will relax me a lil, done opks for two cycles too and they have made me stress even more grrrr.

fx your cycles get regular soon for you hun xxxx

for your next cycle i would buy the box of 20 clearblue digis, clearblue normal or first responce normal ones and start testing day 8 and everyday, same time, same consistency of pee and see what happens. If you are really serious i would even start charting as your temps would conform ovulation even if the opks didnt. One month is nothing though - a totally normal healthy fertile couple only have a 20% chance of conception each month ! I would wait a bit yet-let nature try and if noting in 6 months go to doc. If you start charting though it would make sense to go earlier if you notice an issue, ie low temps, confirmation of no ovulation as the charts would be a good starting point for the doctor to decide on any tests.

I can't recommend charting your temps enough for taking the anxiety out of knowing whether you've ov'd or not. While it can't predict it it will at least tell you when you do ov

Good luck :dust:

Just a wee update incase anyone else has a similar opk problem.......I did ovulate on or around CD 12 so the darkest test in this pic is my positive OPK x
