Hi i went for the routine bloods eveyrhing was fine. But the nurse said that after baby is born I am advised to get The RUBELLA INJECTION. anyone ever had this I can't help but worry ? does it mean something is wrong with me or because I haven't had it before?

I am posting here because I believe u lovely ladies will be near the end of trimester so perhaps someone on here may be having it too ?

Thanks u in advance x

I had to have the Mmr again as I wasn't immune to rubella. Rubella if you contract can effect baby but the chance of you contracting it are very low. I think they like to give it to you if they no your not immune to protect you in future.

I had this with my first pregnancy. It basically means you're not immune against rubella like nutsyputs says. They offer the mmr after you've had your baby so that you're protected for future pregnancies.

I've had this too, she just said my generation for some reason alot my age missed the jab at school. So when baby is born u have the jab then, then another one a few weeks later.

Chances of catching rubella are really slim n it's just so u are immune in future. Baby doesn't have it, just u. Or at least that's how it was explained to me ..
