Ladies,

We are going away on Saturday morning and coming back Sunday night. Will be staying in a hotel.

What's the best way to sterilise bottles and a pump when away from home? Considering taking out electric steriliser with us, but seems like a lot of faff...

Thank you :)

Take a big pan and boil the kettle provided or ask for 2 kettles in room.
I have done bottles this way at family members houses and hotels and find its best way.
I put teats in pan etc and just fill bottles to top with boiling water. X

My friends told me to use Milton tablets and a tupper ware box x

Id go down the milton route too x

You can now get those Milton travel sterilisers but you can only sterilise one at a time? Also dependant on what bottles you are using some you can self sterilise but you would need a microwave

Thanks ladies. Funny enough, I have two packs of Milton at home. Totally forgot that it's an option! Glad I don't need to take my electric steriliser with us!!

Thank you. I'm away to read the instructions, so I don't panic when it comes to it :)

Just to crash this post with my own question.

Does anyone use the TT Travel Steriliser for cold water sterilisation? I need to sterilise a bottle for longer than the three hour stretch that the microwave offers, so that it's ready for night feed.

He hoops, forgot to ask the question, how do you use the TT Travel Steriliser with cold water. Milton tablets have to be put in 5L water... Obviously this isn't possible in the TT Travel container?

Is the TT travel container much smaller?

I've got a 4L Tupperware box which I am taking with us. The Milton tablets are to be used with 5L of water....

Does anyone know if it's Ok to use one tablet with 4L instead of 5???

Oh I didn't realise that the Milton tablets could only be used in a certain amount of water :/ I don't have a travel steriliser I have a normal cold water/microwave one. If I am going to be out all day I just take the amount of bottles out with me that I am going to need that day & if I run out of bottles then I make sure I am back home again in time for next feed (I have plenty of bottles so the bottles I take out with me I always have enough to replace them in the steriliser for when I get back)

Bigbee I have seen one use sterilised bottles in boots.
However not tried them myself

Thanks flosi, I'll have to check them out for future use. I took Milton tablets with me, but only ended up using bottles i sterilised at home, as he is really fussy with bottles so it was easier to breast feed...

We used the Milton cold water steriliser for travelling and also at home - we found it sooooo much easier than an electric steriliser. We invested in the Milton5L container with lid and weighted plastic piece to keep the bottles under water. It may seem bulky but you can use the empty tub to put stuff in (like bottles, breast pump) as storage.
