can u bring your maternity leave forward at anytime?
Im due to go back to work today and i reeally can't face it (long story). Can i phone up and tell them that im not coming in or do i have to give some sort of notice?

Officially 28 days notice I think. Just call in sick to play for time. Are they understanding employers?

i thought they were but recently they've done northing but make me feel incapable of working there. I feel so anxious at the thought of going back (ive had two weeks holiday off). Im due to finish 15th but i really can't face going in tonight and i keep feeling sick.
i just want to stay home where im loved and wanted.

my mate couldn't get them to bring hers forward so her doc wrote her a sick note to cover her
xox

Yeah get signed off that's a great idea then they will have to bring it forward!

ill go in tonight then and tomorrow ill go doctors. I reckon when i tell midwife whats gone off she will get doc to sign me off anyway.

thanks all.

If you get signed off sick you can bring it forward, sometimes they will force you to go on Mat leave if you take too long on sick
See if you can get an appointment and say you really can't cope anymore? Get a month off and that should cover up till they decide to stick you on mat pay? xx

Ah Budge  Get the doctor to sign you off. If it's making you feel so down it's not worth going back. You NEED to be where you feel loved and wanted at the moment, think of you and LO's wellbeing.

U can fone in sick 2 nite then get the Dr 2 give u a line from today? Just an option for ya! There is nothing worse than dreading work :wall:

i wouldn't even go in tonight hun...
just get the docs to backdate it

xox

o would do but they phoned me today to see if it was today i was starting back.
they've told me my hours and pay may be different when i go back to work in march. This has really stressed me out  i may have to leave work if the hours don't suit and i need the money to make ends meet.

i work for an insurance company. only a couple of hours in the evening. But its not set hours and i can go in anytime between 5pm and 7 am which is great with the kids and hubbys funny hours.
im really stressed that in march ill go back and i cannot do the hours they want me to do or someething. Its not what iwant to hear now.

Hun they have to pretty flexible with your hours when you return - by law they need really good reasons for denying you the hours you want.

Lisa31 had a problem with hers and she got it all sorted. try and look up some info on line to back you up.

when i was pg with kai i was off sick then when i came back to work, i did an hour an i rang them up an told them i had to leave an start my maternity leave there an then an they were fine  maybe its different at diff places though.x

it was awful skatty (thought id reply here instead of in my 4d scan thread). Tomorrow im going to phone in and ask if i can take my last three days holiday and finish friday instead if the 12th.
i just don't want to be there. :(

Don't go back! You shouldn't be there if you are unhappy

Awwwww Budge sorry you are feeling like this, there is nothing worse than not wanting to go into work for one reason or another!

Hope you can get the Doctor to sort it out for you and you get to leave earlier! xx

i usually enjoy work so much and i worked right up to my due date with my first two. but i just think its not worth it now. you get no medals for it and at the end of the day i think you need to rest before having a baby. I spend all day stressed out thinking about going to work and i think fook it. Not anymore.
