Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences with me. We've been TTC for 3 and a half years now, I have PCOS). I'm currently on Letrozole (Fermara) after not ovulating & horrible side effects on Clomid. I have still had bad side effects on letrozole, but I did ovulate in the first round which was good news. I have read that acupuncture is supposed to help with fertility treatment, and can help with the side effects (migraines for me). Has anyone else tried this? Did it help for you? What can I expect from it? I have my first appointment this week.

Thanks
E

Hi

I would have acupuncture every week if I could afford to. I only had it during IVF cycles because it was quite expensive. I found it soooo relaxing that I actually went to sleep... I don't think it did anything for my cycles but maybe it would if I had it regularly (I was having it to help build up and implant embryos which didn't work). The 2nd time I did have a chemical pregnancy which is the furthest I've ever got. DH thinks it's a waste of money though so it's difficult.

Reflexology is good too. Not AS relaxing but still relaxing and they could tell I wore glasses (I wasn't wearing them and hadn't mentioned them). I went in with really bad period pain but didn't have anything when I left, which again was pretty amazing. I keep meaning to book another actually. It's slightly cheaper than acupuncture around here. Xx

Hi,

Thanks for that, it's great to hear over people's experiences. I had my first session last week and it was relaxing I was completely shattered afterwards, but I did also and up with a migraine outside of when I usually get one... not sure if that was a coincidence or not. Going back next week to have another season so will see how I get on. I completely agree with you about the cost. I'm going to try and do it fortnightlyto keep the costs down a bit and see how it goes for the next few weeks. I'm a little sceptical but it cant hurt right? :)

I'm not sure about reflexology - I don't think I could stand people touching my feet! Maybe I should get over that! Xx
