Well girls, Rosie is soon turning 1 - scary times..
But im stuck for idea's, especially now the weather is a bit worse for wear to occupy her? I dont drive, and dont have lots of money, but enough for public transport.

Any idea's would be great.

Thanks again

We've just been colouring. Finger paints are cheap in wilkos. :)

i try and take katie for a walk most days if i can. she's had two today cos she's been drivin me crazy! and playing with her discovery tree keeps her occupied. apart from that, she's chasing the friggin dog all day - its her favourite thing to do atm!! i want to do painting and stuff, but i know she'll just eat it!

Ive done finger painting with Rosie before and she did put some in her mouth, but didnt come to any harm. Just dont like to do it at home on my own!!

i just have visions of it everywhere! especailly in my mum's house cos its like a palace

what about those mats where you paint with water?

Do you go to any groups?
We have a good one called play and learn, lots of activities and some messy! That's where AJ painted his face! Pic on FB. Its through surestart and its free.

A huge old sheet and towels will protect carpet. Shaving foam, jelly, paints, gluing. OH is going to try paper mache???

Ive brought her those water art mats for birthday/christmas, i dont go to any groups, dont have much confidence.

I hate going to groups where I know no-one.
Went a week past monday to a new one, spent the whole time chattering away to AJ, when he wanted me. Other than that I sat and had a coffee in peace while he played!
I fake the confidence, its much better if you have someone to go with.

Soft play??

Groups are good. If you have a surestart near by they are usually quite good and often free. You should try to get over your own fears for her. Once you see her interacting and loving playing with the other kids then you'll start to forget about your insecurities. :)

boxes of shiney stuff from the kitchen. A cardboard box?? As long as its safe and not a toy they will love it.

ooo cardboard boxes defo! katie's got a thing for her bumbo box atm, she loves puttin it on her head  and she's got another box hat she likes to chew for some reason

I never went to groups (because i have real low confidence) till i saw Kaitin was missing out on playing with other children, and i started going a few months ago, she loves it and i've got used to it, you will meet other people. :)

You can go for images to color using color pencil. for images you can search for the images to color. I use to do the same with my DS to help him out in coloring. When searching for the images i came a site which provides good images like birds, animals, disney character etc.,
